"Okay, okay. There are going to be rules though," I said. A million questions are going through my head. What if people find out we were faking it? What if something bad happens and we stop being friends?

"Rules? Why would we need rules?" he asked, confused.

"Well, we need boundaries. Like what are things we can't do. And what will happen if Celia still doesn't like you? Do we fake a breakup? And if we fake a breakup, won't people be suspicious that we're still close?" I blurted all the questions out, almost running out of breath.

"Mel, baby. Chill. Okay, we'll discuss all these situations okay? If we don't discuss it all, we'll discuss them as it passes and goes, okay?" he said trying to calm me down. Baby? That was the first time I heard him call me baby. I have to get used to it anyways.

"Okay, first rule. If we ever break up, no one can know it was fake. If anyone asks why we're still close, we'll just say that we realised being best friends was just better." I said as I put air quotation around the word break up.

I felt like setting rules just made me feel like I had more control over this situation.

"Okay. That's a good rule. The second rule, we have to go to every party that we're invited to unless there is a valid reason." he said.

"WHAT? No! You know I hate parties!" I said almost shouting. He places his finger on my lips, trying to ask me to quiet down.

"I know you don't but how are we supposed to make Celia jealous if we don't go to any parties? It's a good opportunity!" he said. I just rolled my eyes and nodded my head.

"No one can know we're in a fake relationship" Matthew added on.

"No shit sherlock. I'm not dumb" I rolled my eyes.

'You also have to call me those couple names. Like babe, love, the list goes on." he said with a smirk on his face.

"Nah! What? Hell no, Matt-" I got cut off by him.

"Babe, what did I just say?" Matthew looked at me.

"Argh, it's going to take some time to get used to it. So, deal with me calling you Matt for now. I hate you." I said as I flipped him off.

"Awh, love you too!" he blew a kiss.

I don't know how I feel about this fake relationship thing. I feel like something bad might happen. It might just be me overthinking. I shouldn't worry, right? I mean, it is fake after all.

"Babe? Mel?" he said as he waves his hands in front of my face.

"Yeah?" I snapped out of it and replied.

"We have to tell our parents that we're together by the way," Matt said.

"Wait, why?" I asked confused.

"So that they won't find out from other people and start questioning us," he replied. I guess that's understandable.

"Oh, okay then." I got off my bed and started to put my pillows on the floor.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Matthew asked as he watched me place my stuff on the floor.

"Sleeping on the floor?" I replied, confused at what he was asking.

"Mel, it's either I sleep on the floor or we're sleeping in the same bed. I'm not letting you sleep on the floor," he said sternly.

"Fine. We'll both just sleep on the bed," I said as I got my pillows off the floor.
