(Name) waited patiently outside for the world meeting to come to a conclusion. She was mainly waiting for her best friend, Russia, since she was planning on spending the day with him. She couldn’t exactly be inside the meeting room since she wasn’t a nation, or at least a maid working inside the building. At least the meeting would be over soon, at least she hoped so. Nothings was ever really accomplished unless Germany intervened and made sure everyone started discussing their issues.
After a while, everyone started to leave the conference building and go home, all except Russia who went to (Name) as soon as he got out. “Hi Ivan,” (Name) said him. Besides his sisters, (Name) was really the only one who called him by his human name and he actually enjoyed it when she called him by that name.
“Алло (Name),” Russia said after joining up with her. “Are you ready to go?”
(Name) nodded and reached for Russia’s hand. It was normal for them to hold hands whenever they were together, at least to her. They were best friends after all, wasn’t that what best friends do? Honestly, it felt a little strange to Russia, but in a good way. She was always so nice to him, but it made him kind of sad that she was one of the only ones who cared about him like this. Though the hand holding did almost give off the impression that they were dating. They might be by now if Russia had the courage to confess his feelings to her, but he was afraid that she would reject him and wouldn’t want to be his friend anymore.
(Name) smiled up at him, the smile he never got tired of seeing. “I’m ready to go if you are,” she said to him. He would do anything to spend some time with her, even if it was just a stroll around town and going out to eat. It did sound more like a date, but it was just hanging out to them. He didn’t mind so much though. He would still be around her for some time, so he couldn’t really complain.
(Name) walked with him to town, still holding Russia’s hand in her own. She always looked forward to when she could spend some time with him. He was usually busy with his work and the world conference meetings, so she would just like to enjoy what little time she could to have with him nowadays. Even if her definition of “spending time together’ was just having a leisurely stroll around town today, it was nice to do it with him. The weather was also perfect for a stroll. She didn’t hear anything about rain or storms happening today, just sunny weather with no clouds like it was right now. It wasn’t even windy; just a nice, simple breeze every once in a while.
“Where would you like to eat Russia?” (Name) asked him.
“Anything that is fine with you, da?” Russia said with his cute little smile that (Name) always liked to see. He always looked much sweeter than he already was when he smiled. Knowing that she could make her best friend happy made her even happier as well. She knew that he could be very sad sometimes because people always made fun of him and called him a psychopath. None of that was true, he wasn’t scary at all. At least not to her. In fact, she thought he was very adorable. He was nothing like what other people said about him, and when she thought about Russia being sad because of other people’s crude remarks, that just made her feel just as sad as he was. Sometimes those people really got to him, but (Name) knew him for who he really was and that was all that mattered to him. If it wasn’t for her, he didn’t know where he would be today.
Even behind his smile, (Name) could still tell that Russia was feeling a bit upset. Did someone say something to him in the conference room? That had to be it. What had happened to him this time?
