Finn's expression was blank. His face was hard as stone. He knew what his answer would be, but he never expected it to come out harshly. "I do too," he said coldly.
They stared blankly for a while, not knowing what to say. But they knew what this meant: the game was on.
Just then, Millie returned. "Millie, you're back!" Noah said happily, though just a second ago he was as cold as winter.
--
Just as they reached the hotel where Millie and Finn stayed, Noah decided to leave. Finn decided to take this as his chance. "So, did you like our friendly date?" Finn asked as they entered the elevator. "It was really fun actually. Noah came unexpectedly but that's fine."
The elevator opened again as they reached their floor. They walked down the hall until they reached Millie's room. "Well, goodnight I guess," Finn said. But before Millie closed the door, they smiled genuinely. They both enjoyed the date every much. "Goodnight Finn. See you tomorrow,"
Millie closed the door and saw Linda watching TV. "You're a really lucky girl you know," Linda said, lazily turning off the TV and facing her. "What do you mean?" Millie asked, sitting on the bed across her.
"Well for one, you're very rich and famous and you have two boys fighting over you," Millie knew what she was talking about. "Noah is just a friend to me," Millie sighed. She was always bothered about this topic. A lot of fans would think that Noah and her had something special. But they really weren't anything more than friends.
"But he doesn't think of it that way. I can tell," Linda said, now sitting beside her. "Who will you pick?" Linda asked. At this, Millie grew impatient. "Look, I don't think of Noah as anything more than a friend. If he does, then it isn't my fault. I'm not looking for a serious relationship right now."
Linda smiled. "You keep talking about Noah being just a friend, what about Finn?" Millie bit her lip. "I don't know,"
Linda's smile grew wider. "I don't think you should waste this though. Think about it MIllie. Take a chance on this one, you've already missed a lot." Millie sighed. It was true and she could not deny it.
--
She checked her phone the next morning and she saw a sweet little good morning text from Noah. As she thought about it, she realized that it was definitely not an act of friendship. So she just said good morning back and turned off her phone.
They went to the set again and shot a few more scenes. They were already shooting the ending of Long Distance. No, it was not yet the end of their shootings together. There were still more to go. But they decided to shoot it already because the set was only available for a short time.
This scene was located on a bench where Kevin and Alice could watch the sun set together. "Lights, camera, action!" The lovely couple admired the beautiful sunset together. Kevin took hold of Alice's hand and gave it a small kiss. "I love you Alice." They smiled. "I love you, too." The camera man took more shots of them together he took a view of the sunset. Lastly, a view of them smiling at each other. After a few more moments, the director yelled cut.
They were no longer Alice and Kevin. They were Millie and Finn. But they still wanted to watch the sunset. They still wanted to hold hands, they still wanted to smile. But they only could when they were shooting, when they were acting.
And that's when Millie knew. She was having feelings for him.
