Y/n's POV

049 had finally deemed me strong enough to walk through the halls once more. Which was nice, because when I  was still stuck in my room, it felt like I was captured once more.

He even started walking behind me to make sure I didn't fall behind. I kept telling him it was fine, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. To be quite honest, it got a bit annoying.

We safely made it to the east wing, I don't know why 049 insisted on going here, it was just like the other ones, but I followed him anyways.

He stopped, and turned to look at me.

"What do you plan on doing?"

I was a little confused. "What do you mean?"

"What do you want to do? Do you want to leave? Do you want to stay here? There's no doubt they'll return with many more guards to retake this place. Do what do you want to do?"

I was speechless. My (e/c) eyes flicked to the floor.

"I-I don't know," I started, "where would we go? We'd have no where. This is our home." I said.

049 said nothing.

I opened my mouth to speak, but let out a cry of pain and fell to the floor. I clutched my chest and began taking in hurried, rushed breaths. 049 rushed over.

"are you okay?" he asked, his metallic, British voice suddenly booming. "damn it, I knew this was a bad idea."

I lifted a hand the tell him that I was okay, though my breath was still raggedy.

"I-I'm fine, it must be from sitting down for too long, just let me re-shape." I whispered. it was painful, it felt like needles crawling up my throat and piercing my senses.

I hurriedly spread my molecules apart, the sensation of being weightless and exposed rushing over to me. a blast of agony rushed over me and I let out a shriek to show. I quickly reassembled and clutched my head.

"it hurts, why does it hurt?" I said quickly, before black blood began dribbling from my mouth. 049 lifted me to my feet.

"back to the room, you are in no shape to travel at all." he whispered urgently, nudging me forward.

I took one step, before my knee buckled and I slammed to the floor. I coughed, more black blood. it was almost as if I was being corrupted by it.

049 seemed to weigh his options, before lifting me in his arms, bridal style. I blushed quickly, though it faded fast. this was purely so that he could transport me without my hurting myself.

"you're light," he said, "it's almost scary."

I felt a tad self conscious, even though I had no reason to. "that's because my molecules are ever shifting. I'm weightless." I spoke. it made sense, it was also the cause of my floating. that's what Kitty--

I scrunched my eyes shut. "sorry," I whispered. "sorry for this."

049 brushed a bit of hair out of my face. he seemed tired, even if I couldn't see his face. "no, this is my fault. you obviously weren't ready, and I should have known." I frowned.

"it's my fault, if I hadn't let all those SCPs ou--"

"then we wouldn't have met." he raised his voice a little louder, though it still was eerily calm. "you freed us. if you hadn't, we'd both be in containment and probably never have seen each other ever again."

this seemed oddly familiar, even if I couldn't place my finger on it.

"sure you released whatever scp that had attacked you, but you also released the SCPs like you and I. ones who just need something to get back to." i noticed we had stopped in front of my room a while ago, but 049 made no move to open the door of set me down.
