While parents and
Siblings sleep
There sits a
Heavy eyelid soul
Awake in the dead of night
We are either in pain
Or lost in something
Remembering hurtful days
Or enjoying the silent alone time
But even if one sounds better
Don't be fooled
One is just feeling it
The other one is numbing
And distracting ones self
Until those heavy eyelids close
You either cry out in pain
Silent so no one can hear
Or you do something like me
I am writing as I feel my eyes beg
For sleep and rest
Mere distraction from the stresses
That the world brings when
It is also awake.
