His Only Possession

Chapter 13- "Who am I?" Part 4

I quickly went over to her, and gently shook her shoulder in order to wake her up without startling her, but it was to no avail as she jumped up yelling "MOM!"

And well now I find myself walking alongside my father, hoping to get news of who that woman is, because I can't help but wonder... Who Are You?

*Third person's pnt. of view*

Jonah and the doctor were currently in the process of contacting the police when a nurse burst into the room, eyes frantic as she said "the patient in room 709 is going into shock!!"
"CRAP!" Exclaimed the doctor as he sprang to his feet, and hurried to where the unidentified patient laid, with Jonah trailing hot on his tail, all the while the Doctor screamed out orders "clear a lab right now. Have transporters at the room ASAP, make sure all surgical instruments are ready, and the defibrillator charged. Also, have a quick lab run on her blood, get me the results, and have blood delivered to the operation room. NOW!" He yelled at his accompanied nurse, and with a quick nod, she sped away, making sure she had everything ready by the time the time the doctor got to the patient's room.

Meanwhile, Jade found herself in a very calm state. She felt relaxed, she felt soothed, protected, and relieved, as if in a dream.

And that's exactly what it was. A dream.

For while Jade's brain brought her to a serene state of mind as a defense mechanism, her entire body was shutting down, she was convulsing on the outside, while on the inside she felt at peace.

The doctor arrived in room 709, demanding "What happened?"
And another nurse stood fidgety as she explained "I came over to check her vials, when I noticed some blood in her catheter. Then I pulled out her right arm, and noticed discoloration near the biceps, and just as I let go of her arm, her body started shaking violently, her heartbeat coming in irregularly, and I instantly sent for you." The nurse seemed close to tears as she explained what happened.
"I knew it! I shouldn't have put off the surgery. I'm assuming that during the accident, her arm was impacted, causing one of her arteries to rupture, I knew stabilizing her would only hold her off for so long, and I expected by then to have all the necessary information to perform the surgery, but I can't hold off, let's just hope everything works out well." Declared the doctor, then he told the nurse "get her ready for surgery, get me and Anesthetic doctor here, and bring enough oxygen and vials, this is going to be a long night." Added the doctor, just as the transporters arrived, ready to bring Jade down to the operation room that the nurses prepared.

As Jade was being rolled out of the room, the doctor turned to his son as he said "Jonah, I need you to call the police, give them the name that the patient told us earlier, get as much information as you can. I need it all by the time I come out of that room." Then the Doctor made way to leave, except Jonah grabbed his father's armed asking worried "is she gonna make it?"
The doctor shook his head, and said "We can only hope son. I mean hopefully the labs gives us an accurate blood type, but she's suffering from internal bleeding, and other fractures throughout her body, and we have to be as accurate as possible even if we want her to have the slightest chance at making it. I'm telling you son, her chances are slim... we can only hope son. We can only hope."

And with that, the Doctor walked away, in order to get ready for this surgery, however this time, it didn't feel normal, his heart was in his hands, because for the first time in years, he was nervous.

This was a case that he couldn't even come close to predicting what could happen to his patient, and he didn't like it. He told his son that her chances were slim, but he himself, wasn't even sure if she had a chance.

But he had to overcome his fear, he would only let the fear take over for a few seconds, maybe even minutes while he changed into the proper surgical attire, but the Doctor knew, as soon as he stepped through those doors, he closed the fear out.

Fear wasn't going to win him over and take a life. No. Not today. Not this patient.

"Nurse are we ready to begin?" The Doctor firmly asked.
"Ready when you are sir." And with a simple nod, and a deep breath, they began.

Jade found herself waking up in a beautiful field, with blooming flowers, a sparkling lake, and  clean fresh air.

She looked down and noticed she was wearing a white gypsy dress, with a red scarf wrapped around her waist.

She felt the warm sun kiss her skin with its tender rays, as the birds chirped harmoniously,  making the moment absolutely breath taking, as she closed her eyes, until she heard a familiar voice.

"Jade."
"Huh?"
"Jade! Over here." Came the voice, as Jade turned and faced Geyna, who was standing near a tree, with a baby blue dress on.
Jade found herself stalking towards Geyna as she questioned "What are you doing here?" And Geyna smiled as she said "I should be asking you the same thing. It's not time for you to be here yet. You have to come back with me."

Meanwhile, Sarah found Geyna comatose on her bed, and neither her shaking or her calling out could wake up the sleeping child. Sarah wanted to leave Geyna to get her phone and call 911, but something told her not to, so she sat by her youngest daughter, and waited.

"Come with you where? I'm pretty fine over here. It's so peaceful, and I feel happy." Explained Jade, then she added "feels like a fairytale."
"I know, but you can't stay here. You can't leave our world yet. You have to come back, for mom, dad, Gared, Sofia, Samuel, and me. You have to come back for me Jade. I need you." Pleaded Geyna.
"Aww, okay, I'll come with you. Right after I take a little nap." Yawned Jade.
Oh no, thought Geyna. "No! Jade, you can't sleep, you have to come with me now!" Exclaimed Geyna.
"Just five minutes." Said Jade, very drowsy.

All the while in the lab "We're losing her doctor!" Exclaimed a nurse.
"No! Come on Jade. Stay with me." Urged the doctor, as he looked over at the heart monitor, hoping she doesn't crash, as they drain the blood out of her, while he patched up the few minor fractures in her body.

"Just five minutes." Pleaded Jade, as her eyes closed, and she plummeted to the floor.
"Nooooooooo" Came Geyna's gasping voice as she sprang from her lying position on the bed, startling her mom.
"Sweetie? What happened?!" Exclaimed Sarah, as she hugged a frightened Geyna, but she recieved no response, and when Sarah pulled away, she noticed tears streaming down Geyna's face, as Geyna stared aimlessly and whispered over and over "Jade."

"Noo! Come on Jade! Not like this!" Exclaimed the doctor as a long beep sound voiced from the heart monitor, followed by a flat line, as Jade laid lifeless on the hospital bed.
