The talk of the town,A new queen be crowned,
Of fools and slaves and smiles.
They whisper of murder,
Lies fill all their pots,
But no one will move that frown.
The talk of the town,
I hear them all pound,
They smell me from far away.
Secrets no longer,
My life a disaster,
We should make time to trade.
The talk of the town,
Two loves denounced,
Sent forth to their mounds.
The dogs can smell,
From a far,
Your pain, their deaths, our anger.
The talk of the town,
I to their word bound,
No longer a dog of what is to pass.
Send forth my regards,
No more safeguards,
Still no one will make a sound.
