She took a deep breath and exhaled, the cold wind of the night sweeping by. The sound of the rushing current beneath her feet gave her a momentary peace of mind and cleared her thoughts for the time that she stayed here at the harbor. The scent of saltwater prominent in the air and the seagulls flying nearby reminded her of so many memories that she holds dear. She never dared to let them go. Always finding time to reminisce about the things that she had, the things that happened, and the way it felt to be here, to be with them, to have something that's worthwhile.

Ah, the good times have passed. She took one last look at the ocean, making sure not to miss the way the waves rolled and the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore, the distant sound of birds and ships and the way the night sky reflected onto the sea's surface, the smell of the ocean and the feeling of serenity and silence. Everything that she loved was somewhat connected to the sea and this is where she says goodbye. She stood up, looking back, hesitating but sure of her actions, and walked away.

Not once did she hesitate, but she looked back.
