ode to my love

To the love that has carried me,
Driven me down a long, twisted road.
To the love that has always come back,
Embracing me in it's warm arms,
Cradling me like it's newborn.
To the love that sparkles in my eyes,
Illuminating my smile and mind,
Creating contentment and whimsical thoughts.

Thank you, Love, for guiding me.
When I lost my faith
You helped me back to it.
When I was young it was your hand
I gripped as I crossed streets, or
Wandered through grocery store jungles.
There are times I am your protector,
When I cup my hands around your fragility and
Whisper to you how beautiful you are.
We cry together, you and I.
We cry over the bad times, such as abandonment,
But there are good times.
Those times where I speak to you,
The you ingrained into my walls,
About the lover we share.
I can almost swear that you respond to me,
And if you could would it be through tears as well?
Would you find that your only weakness is
The person that makes you the strongest?
