Gerard bolted out of the restaurant, the only thing in his mind being the desperation to find him, to find Frank.
He couldn't let the boy run away. It was too dangerous, and Gerard couldn't bear the fact Frank was scared of him.
It was still difficult for him to believe that he was so impulsive and stupid to hurt the smaller man. He hurt Frank, and he had to fix it now.
He looked around him anxiously, like a rabbit being chased. There were too many directions Frank could've ran through. Oh god, This wasn't happening.
Yet, something was poking the back of his mind, something new which he didn't recognize, and couldn't place.
That strange mysterious feeling guided him to turn his head towards the sidewalk on his right, in the direction of the dark alley, the one that held so much trouble.
And just as he looked over to that direction, his eyes widened at the sight of Frank's scarf, the same scarf he used to hide the bite mark on his neck with, resting on the cold ground.
Gerard made an obvious gasp. He went over to the scarf, picked it up as quickly as he could and then started running along the sidewalk in hopes to catch Frank in his tracks. He couldn't be that far away, Gerard thought. The older man only left the restaurant a minute after the younger did.
So Gerard ran. He ran because he knew he had to find Frank before someone else will.
And he didn't like that possibility at all.
xoxoxoxo
He ran for longer than he could remember. In those kinds of situations he really wished he still had his wings.
But his foolish mistakes are the ones that led to him losing them, so he pushed the thought aside and just continued on searching for Frank.
The young man might have been small, but he sure was a fast runner if Gerard still hadn't caught up with him, and it was starting to worry the older man more than he wanted to worry, terrified him way more than it should have.
Although, when he reached the alley, he managed to catch a glimpse of dark hair and the familiar jacket Frank was wearing when they left the house.
Gerard ran over to him as fast as he could, and in the middle of the alley managed to get close enough and grab Frank's hand. He was very careful not to grab the damaged one. He knew it would only bring more trouble than good.
Frank gasped in surprise, and tried to free himself out of the other's grasp, but Gerard pulled him backwards so the younger practically fell to his chest.
"No! Please, let me go! No!" he called desperately.
"No. Frank, please just listen," Gerard said firmly, but there was a pleading tone to his voice.
"Let go of me!" the younger kept struggling. Gerard was stronger though, and eventually made it to pin Frank against the brick wall, holding him there by the arms as the other squirmed.
Gerard's expression softened at the sight of Frank's face under the dimmed light of the alley. It was red and puffy, and filled with terror, and Gerard wanted to just hug him, but the man kept trying to push him away and fight, as if the elder would beat him up.
"Frank, please, I'm not going to hurt you!"
"Just like you didn't hurt that man in the restaurant?!"
Ouch.
"No, Frank, you don't understand. I can't explain if you don't listen."
"And when I tried to fucking help, you cut my wrist open!"
