Fact: He has a little secret. If he doesn't have about a cup of blood in a year, he'll turn to stone for one hundred years.
Backstory:
Zelda and him are childhood friends, they would do everything together. But they got split apart because of the curse Ganon set on him, the curse to turn to stone for one hundred years if he didn't have a cup of blood. So he was abandoned. Vaati tried to take Zelda again one day, but wasn't able to succeed, so he took Sakuri instead because he had royal blood in him. The thing is, Zelda's request was to bring back Sakuri. So Link travels all they way just to bring Sakuri back. (Tho Link might have the same crush on Sakuri as he has on Zelda pffffffffft-) Ghirahim is another story. Ghirahim has to the same desire to kidnap Sakuri as well, but he is able to turn Sakuri into stone for a long as he wants.
