Blackness fades to color
World blurred around me
White pristine bed
It all comes rushing back
The crash
My mom
The seeping scarlet blood
Over white snow
With a jolt I remember
My father
My brother
My mother
The nurse says my brother
Has lost his memory
The words hit me like a fastball
I left all my tears
In the scarlet snow
Instead I feel emptiness
Like a bottomless pit
Filled with tears
My tears
And my father
I ask, not wanting to know
He's dead
My life is shattered like the windows of our car
Instead of fear
I feel determination
Clawing at my heart
Fighting off tears
I've made up my mind
You have to save my brother
He's my only hope
Love is my only hope
But love isn't on my side right now
