I'll protect you Baekhyun. I promise. Those where his thoughts, his promise that he'll protect Baekhyun no matter what happens. Even if it means, he has to give his life in return.

Baekhyun eyes pierced through Chanyeol's soul as if trying to read what's inside of him while Chanyeol on the other hand was slowly drowning in his thoughts, almost neglecting the midget's presence. "Chanyeol, are you okay? Is there something
that's bothering you?" Baekhyun asked, breaking the ice that was surrounding both of them. "Ah... yes. I'm okay." The giant snapped out of his trance, dazed by his own thoughts.

"You don't seem like it." The blonde-guy whispered, hesitating if whether he should push in deeper. Baekhyun could feel the negative energy that's radiating from Chanyeol and it was aggravating him. Silence was what Chanyeol gave as a response to the midget, still in his thoughts.

His eyes turned to Baekhyun, casting him a deep gaze. He realized what trouble he had set Baekhyun in, the innocent guy got tangled with him who's been involved with drugs, it was wrong, so wrong. It made him very guilty, he should've thought about letting Baekhyun enter his life, the moment he saw the runaway groom outside his wedding. He should've thought about the consequences of the decision that he will make, the outgrowth of this to Baekhyun and even to him.

"Wh-why are you looking at me like that?" The midget questioned, feeling uncomfortable under the latter's gaze. He could feel the intensity of Chanyeol's eyes and it was flustering him. "Why don't you go back home?" Suddenly, Chanyeol had brought up the topic of Baekhyun returning home. It was because of his thoughts that if Baekhyun was no longer connected to him then he won't worry about the midget's safety anymore.

"Why do y-you ask that... suddenly?" Baekhyun was rather confused and surprised because of Chanyeol's unexpected question. And he was rather hurt by Chanyeol's tone that was expressing his dislike of Baekhyun's presence as what the midget thought.

The giant took notice of the hurt that reflected on Baekhyun's eyes for a second. He didn't mean to hurt him, he was just trying to find a way on how to protect him from danger.

"You're better off in your home, Baek. Why do you even choose to be here?" Chanyeol continued his question, taking a deep breath to shook off the heavy feeling in his chest. "Because this is where i'm happy, Chanyeol. This is where i could be free, i could be myself without the control of my parents. I thought you already knew it Chanyeol. I thought you understood me." Disappointment could be derived from Baekhyun's voice as he said those words. He was disappointed, hurt and confused at the same time at why Chanyeol was acting like that.

"Will you still choose to be here even though your life is in danger? And that any second you could die, you could be killed."

Baekhyun gasped upon hearing Chanyeol, it was something that made his heart pound and his eyes well up in tears. "Chanyeol, wh-what do you mean? How could... my life b-be in danger?" He was panting for air, calming down his self but it was hard because of the anxiety that's starting to build up inside of him.

Chanyeol instantly regretted saying his statement, he didn't want Baekhyun to be troubled about his own safety, as much as possible Chanyeol wanted to keep it to himself. "B-baek, it's not... what you think. I-i was just exaggerating." The giant tried to solace Baekhyun who was still in utter shock, comforting him with a lie.

The blonde had slowly calmed down but he was still queasy, tears threatening to fall. He was scared for his self and maybe for Chanyeol. He tried to stop his tears, wiping them away vigorously.

Damn. I'm so sensitive. He said to himself, getting annoyed with his tears that were trying so hard to escape from his eyes.

The taller one stood there, not knowing the right thing to do. He was rather hesitating, rocking on his pivot, feeling tensed. He looked down on Baekhyun who was still trying to push away his tears, the liquid slowly sliding down his pale face.

With second thoughts, Chanyeol pulled Baekhyun closer to him, wrapping his arms around the midget's small structure, bringing warmth and safety to him.

"Don't worry, Baek. I'll be right here to protect you... always." His voice was filled with uncertainty if he was doing and saying the right thing. He didn't know what Baekhyun's reaction will be since the midget was just staying still without uttering any word yet you could hear his rapid breathing.

Baekhyun stayed in his position, stunned by Chanyeol's action. He didn't expect for him to do that and that he would say those comforting and reassuring words. If Baekhyun has to be honest, Chanyeol's words and action had consoled his wariness, somehow.

The quietness engulfe the two guys, not a word was said. They stayed in each other's arms feeling the intensity of their proximity, the touching of their skin sending electronic bolts to their spine. It was very unexplainable and... almost surreal. They have never imagined to be this close—to feel what they were feeling.

A beep from Chanyeol's phone broke them from their connection, letting them breath freely as if they were holding their breaths all this time.

Chanyeol pulled out his phone from his back pocket, he slide his thumb against the screen, giving him access to whom was the sender of the text message.

He almost dropped his phone as he read the message. All the air in his lungs was emptied out and he was unable to breath. His eyes wandered around the perimeter, checking for anything that's suspicious but he didn't found anything.

He swallowed the lump in his throat, the uneasiness inside his stomach was very uncomfortable to be felt. He returned his eyes to his phone screen and re-read the message again.

Author's Note; (No one is active in the comment box and i'm sad :<) Another Chanbaek moment aye? hahahah ;) I'm sorry for the long update i was just really busy with school.
