"Hello."
"Hello. Who's this?"
"I'm speaking from City Hospital. Are you a relative of Miss Amethyst?"
"Wh-what? No.. I-I mean y-yes. What happened?"
"We're sorry to inform you that Miss Amethyst was in an accident. She's still unconscious but we are trying our best. No one has visited her yet. So we checked her phone and you were the last person she called. So we're informing you."
As soon as Xavier heard the word 'accident', the phone slipped out of his hand.
"Sir? Sir? Are you there? Sir?"
And Xavier ran. He ran out of the cafe and onto the sidewalk. He didn't care that it was raining or that the hospital was far away. He just ran. He ran for his life. Amethyst was his life. He realised it then. He realised that he loved her. And he couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to her. And so he ran.
