Chapter 38 // Captive

"How're you holding up Taro?" I entered and took a seat next to him.
"You. Why are you here?"
"Before you get mad, remember that this is the guy that kept you alive while the ambulance were on their way." Yuu mentioned.
"We used to be friends, remember that? What happened to us?" I asked
"We fell for the same girl."
"We all did." Yuuto chimed in.
"She's very easy to love."
"Taro, I don't want us to hate each other. That's the opposite of what I want." I told him.
"You turned Ayano against me."
"You cheated on her."
"It's not as simple as you're making it sound, Budo. A lot happened that day that I'm not allowed to talk about."
"That doesn't make cheating right."
"I never said it did. I'm disgusted at what I did. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it, but if you knew the full story.. maybe you'd understand." he said
"Then tell me Taro. Or at least tell Ayano, she deserves to know more than anyone."
"I want to.. I really do. But if I tell her.. I'm putting us all at danger. I'm not going to be the reason that Ayano gets hurt, not now and not ever. Budo, I don't know if she'll ever forgive me, so please - treat her well. Treat her like the princess that she is. And if you break her heart, I will break you like a kitkat."
"I have no intentions of ever hurting her. If you really can't tell me or her or anyone, just apologise at the very least, then maybe you can keep her as a friend."
"I would be very lucky if she ever forgave me for what I did." he sighed
"Well, your luck has to come around soon. You never know Yamada."

Ayano's POV
Yuki seemed to be awake, and I was bored, so I decided to strike a conversation with him.
"Hi Yuki." I entered the basement
"Well, at least it was just you kidnapping me.. unless you came here to torture me.."
"The only torture you'll endure is the boredom of having to talk to me." I laughed, "Sorry about this, but I've been fucked over by a lot of guys, and I'm wishing not to add you to that list. So keeping you here until I'm certain is very necessary."
"Eh, that's fair. Can I at least have one arm free? I'm scared I'm gonna get an itch and not be able to scratch it."
"If you must." I unlocked one of his hands. "I don't think you're a bad guy, I just think you got caught up in some shit."
"Yeah, some utter bullshit. I hope we can find Shin soon."
"Me too. I miss him. He's my best friend."
"It can't be easy."
"It's really not- wait, I just realised something. We've kissed before.."
"When?"
"On the sleepover where shit went down. Hayato dared us."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Sorry by the way."
"Question, what is your sexuality?"
"I'm bisexual. I understand the confusion though." he laughed.
"Just making sure. So, I'm assuming you've seen Shin before, right?"
"Yeah I have."
"Would you?"
"Would I wha- Oh. Ohhh. Maybe. I mean, he's attractive, there's no denying that, but I'd have to get to know him first."
"Ah, you like personality better - thank GOD. I hate fake people that only date attractive people." I scoffed.
"I know what you mean, I wish EVERYONE would judge by personality."
"Me too. Are you hungry? I forgot to ask."
"A bit, yeah."
"Alright, one second." I freed up his remaining hand and legs. "Let's get some food while we wait for Budo and my dad to get back from the shop."
"Thank you Ayano." he stretched. We walked upstairs and went to the kitchen. I looked through the cupboard and fridge to find something when my mom walked in and laughed.
"Ayano, you aren't supposed to free the hostage. You're a terrible kidnapper."
"He's trustworthy, and we're hungry."
"Your father and Budo will be back soon with ingredients."
"Yeah but the food will take ages to make." I complained.
"And I was help captive!" Yuki laughed
"Well I understand for you, but Ayano has free access to food at any time." my mom responded to Yuki.
"I'm hungry mother, stop criticising me!"
"Alright, alright, have fun." she smirked, walking off.
I eventually threw a bag of chips at him and got some dip from the fridge.
"You can never go wrong with chips and dips." we went up to my room and started eating. Yuki was on our side. We needed to get Shin back, and Yuki was our best hope to find him.
