Tommy's POV
It was the second day of summer vacation and it started out like any other summer day for us. We went to the water park with friends. It was a hot day, the temperature reached up to 86 degrees we all went swimming and rode on all the water slides. It was the perfect summer day, but not for much longer.June 8th 2011 1:00PM
By the afternoon I noticed the temperature dropped rapidly and it began to grow darker.
"Mom I think it's going to storm, we shouldn't stay too much longer" I said.
Mom looked up at the sky and turned to face me."We better start packing up and go" she said " It does Looks like a storm is on the way."
We started to pack up our stuff when a loud clap of thunder boomed and spoked us. An employee's voice at the water park came over the loudspeaker "ladies and gentlemen the water park is now closed due to the weather. Get home safely and have a good day." We headed to the car, and loaded everything up and got ready to leave.
"WAIT...WERE'S LEAH" aunt Judy cried.
"We have to find her... NOW!" I said racing back to our spot. "LEAH... LEAH!" I called out for her but saw no sign of Leah anywhere. Suddenly it started hailing and everyone rushed out. Still no Leah. "LEEAAAH" I shouted.
"TOMMY!"
I jump, startled to hear my name being shouted. I spun around and...TA DA Leah was right behind me, but I couldn't decide if I was relieved to see her, or angry with her,or both.
"Leah What the hell, where were you?Mom and aunt Judy were worried SICK when they couldn't find you!" I immediately felt bad for shouting at her.
"I was coming down the slide in the back and when I got off I had to go, and I just came out and saw that it was hailing, so excuuuse me."
"Never mind lets go" I said grabbing Leah's arm running us to the car.
As soon as we got back to the car the hail was marble size. Before that it was small enough to be out in and not get hurt, like pea size.
"Leah where were you?" Mom asked, as Leah climbed into the car.
"when the hail started I was in the john" Leah said.
the sky suddenly turned an Erie green that blended into the blackened sky. I had no doubt that a tornado was just beginning, my father always said: "whenever there's hail there is always something behind it." There is usually green skies before a tornado as well.
