19th December 1993
Dear Justin,
It's a week until Christmas and I miss you. I'll be home in three days but it feels like longer. These past five months have been the most amazing months of my life but also the loneliest without you by my side but that will change soon when I'm with you again.
New York City is gorgeous at Christmas. The lights illuminate the pathways and the decorations are so over the top it should look tacky but I can't help but love it. However I am slightly worried this gigantic Christmas tree will topple over and hurt someone but let's not think about that.
I went ice skating yesterday and fell over numerous times but I'm sure I'm still better then you would be. Don't worry though, I'm still in one piece (just). Perhaps I could teach you when I get back. There must be someway to make our own ice rink and I'll teach your brothers as well and we can race around and perform wonderful stunts.
I guarantee that you will love the presents I've brought you, my love. If you don't I'll just have to keep them for myself. Of course I brought presents for your family as well. I treated both boys to luxury watches and new satin ties for important, political events you'll all attend together. For your dad I brought him a leather-bound notebook and the latest Polaroid camera to capture this Christmas that we'll spend together. Finally for your mum I brought a silk, pink scarf and a leather Chanel handbag. Obviously you'll have to wait and see what I've brought for you.
Three more days until we reunite my love. Those will be the hardest three days of my life but I'm willing to push though them if it means I get to spend time with you. This will be the best Christmas ever, I swear it.
Don't miss me too much my love,
Love Delilah x
