"I'm sorry Ripley, work wants me." He says and I frown.

"At eleven o'clock on a Friday night?" I frown.

"Yeah, sorry love." He kisses my forehead. "I'll see you tomorrow, we're going baby shopping, right?" He says and I nod, smiling.

I lay my head back on the pillow and listen to him leave before I drift back into my slumber.

****

Sorry I can't make it love, I'll be there next time.

I let out a sigh as I read the message and dial the number I know off by heart, holding the phone to my ear.

"Let me guess." The voice says and I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose. "He bailed... again." He says and I close my eyes.

"Yeah." I whisper and listen to him sigh.

"I'll be there in five." He says and hangs up, leaving me in silence.

A knock at the door is heard a few minutes later and I wander over to it to be greeted by a single red rose in the hand of my best friend.

"Why is it that every time you visit, you bring a rose?" I ask with a smile.

"The flower shop is on the way here so why not?" He smiles and I take it from his tanned hand, giving it a smell like I do with every other.

"That would make a nice name." I whisper.

"Rose?" He says and I nod with a smile.

"Don't you think?" I say, looking into his eyes.

"Every beautiful girl deserves a beautiful name." He says and I grin.

"I'll run it by Dan." I say and watch Noah frown.

"Why?" He says and I giggle.

"She's his child too Noah." I say and he continues to frown.

He rolls his eyes with a sigh and I slap his arm.

"Don't roll your eyes, they'll roll right out of your head." I warn and watch him smile, looking over my face as if he was studying a painting.

"You're going to make the most amazing mother." He whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I know." I say with a wink and grab his hand, dragging him out of the house and into my car.

"Should you be driving?" He asks and I laugh.

"I'm pregnant, not helpless." I say teasingly as I start the car and start the journey towards the shopping centre.

Once we arrive, I grab a trolley and we begin our adventure around mothercare.

We grab all sorts of baby things, from toys to clothes to bedding.

I also get the name of the crib and changing table I want and order them while we're paying for the rest of the stuff.

I happily skip back to the car, despite being almost six months pregnant.

"Please be careful!" I hear Noah yell from behind me and I only giggle and continue.

Once we arrive home, I get a text from my friend and pregnancy buddy, Tilly who was a few weeks behind me.

Not long left to go now! :D

- Tilly xx

I smile and reply, we exchange a few more messages before she says she has to go.

Not long now.
