Skylar's P.O.V
A couple weeks later, we were all by the campfire when Gladys came up to us, looking all sad."Attention, campers!I have some shocking news!"she told us.
"Let me guess, she got stood up on another date?"Zuri said blankly."If it happens every weekend, Des that really qualify as shocking?"Ravi quipped. We all chuckled.
"As of the end of this summer, Camp Kikiwaka is closing...forever!"she said, blowing her nose in the megaphone and we all cringed."So you'll Excuse me if I seem a little down."she said.
"Have we ever seen her up?"I asked."Enjoy your day!"she said and he walked away sobbing."Gladys, wait!Did you just say the camp is closing?"Tiffany asked, walking to her.
"That's right. We haven't gotten enough applications for next year.Even though most of our cabins feature skylights."she replied."Those are termite holes!"I told her.
"Potato, pot-ah-to."she said."We don't have any of those either."Zuri told her and I nodded."Yeah, our potato salad is just expired mayonnaise."I said to her and she walked away.
"Xander, I'll miss you and this camp so much.I'll think of you everyone time a mosquito sucks blood out of my leg."Emma told Xander."That's sweet. And gross."Xander replied.
"Guys, relax. Two things happen every summer.Gladys threatens to shut down the camp, and there's a food poisoning scare."Xander told her."And the only one that actually happens is the food poisoning."Lou told everyone.
"Oh, you mean last night when that chocolate pudding you were eating turned out to be old guacamole?"Emma said to Lou."Bingo,"she said, sounding disgusted.
"So quit worrying. The camp is not closing down."Lou reassured us when we saw some men in gray jumpsuits hauling away the flag."Goodbye, flag.I'll miss flying you at half-mast every time I get a new grey hair."Gladys cried sadly.
"Uh oh.Now I've got a bad feeling in my stomach.Anf it's not just the guacamole pudding."Lou started worrying while sitting down."Gladys, why did you just sell the flagpole?"Ravi asked her.
"Well, since the camp is closing, I have to sell everything I can to pay for a new place to live."she told him."Can I interest you in some sandals?"she asked him."Never mind, these are ladies'."she said.
"Oh.Those are mine!"he said, taking them from her.

A few minutes later, we were in the mess hall with Gladys."I can't imagine why no one's signed up for camp next summer.I mean, check out my cool website."Gladys said, showing us her website.
"Uh, Gladys, that's a picture of a middle aged man with a comb-over."Emma told her."Ooh.Wrong page.Ooh, rich widower?Swipe right."Gladys said and she swiped right.
"And the best part of the site is this amazing promotional videos I made."Gladys said."I know we're gonna regret this."Lou whispered to us."Let's check out this bad boy!"Lou exclaimed with enthusiasm and she clicked the button.
The video started to play.It was Gladys dancing weirdly."Hey kids, the nuclear arms race got ya down?Well, come to Camp Kikiwaka! We have classes in hacky sacking, acid-washing your jeans, and even moonwalking!"Gladys exclaimed.
We all shared disgusted and disturbed looks."It's totally tubular!Oh, look, it's our dreamy, head counselor, Morgan Ross."Gladys said. Then, the camera turned to my dad with a mustache and weird looking hair.
"Oh, Morgy!"she called and he ran away as fast as he could when Gladys ran over to him."Well, gotta go!See you at camp!"she did jumping jacks and ran after him.
