~It's Just A Distant Memory: Gladion X Reader~

~Chapter Thirteen~

~(y/n)'s P.O.V~

We finally did it. We arrived at Wela Volcano. As we were walking around, I heard a some-what-familiar screech. I froze. I recognized that screech. Gladion seemed to notice that I had stopped. "What's wrong?" "I-It's h-here..." Gladion's eyes widened, before calling out Silvally.

Soon, the UB was right in front of us. I know that I need to be strong, but, I can't help but be afraid. After all, this creature did lock away all my memories. Oh dear... What if the UB does the same thing to Gladion!?

"(y/n), I want you to stand back!" 'But-" "Stand back!" I took a step back, which led me to being backed up, into a wall. "Silvally, use Crush Claw!" Silvally went out with its master's orders. Yet, why do I have a feeling this isn't going to go well?

I feel so useless. I've just watched all of Gladion's Pokémon defeated. He no longer has anything to protect him. And, I couldn't do anything to help him.

~Gladion's P.O.V~

I can't believe it. I failed... I failed (y/n)... I can't believe that I let myself lose! As I looked up, I saw the UB charging up a move. Behind me, I heard running footsteps. I looked, behind me, to see (y/n) running up to me. "Stay back!" But, (y/n) wouldn't listen. She ran up to be, and, pushed me to the ground, with her on top of me. 

"What're you doing?!" "Saving you!" "You idiot! You can't protect me, from the UB's attack!" "That may be the case, but, I have to try!" "You have to leave! You'll die, if you stay!" "Gladion... I would happily die for you..."

"But-" "Gladion, you have to listen to me!" I stopped. "Gladion, I don't have any memories of you. And, I don't know if I will ever have them return to me. But, I do know this. I love you!" This shocked me. (y/n)... She loves me?!

"Now that you know this, do you really expect me to leave you?" "I guess not..." "Good, then, let me have my final wish, and, die protecting you!" Tears were streaming down (y/n)'s eyes, and, I just now noticed that I was crying as well. I then pulled (y/n) in, for a kiss. Before(y/n) died, I had to let her know how I felt. The UB then aimed its attack at us. I guess this is the end... For both of us. (y/n), it was nice knowing you...
