You tossed and turned that night. You woke up 3 times in the night from the cold the stone floors and night air would bring you. The blanket was so small and there was so little hay, that right when you got cozy enough to sleep, the blanket would fall off and the hay would have moved with your body's tossing and turning.

Right when you were about to fall asleep once more a noise caught you attention. You heard the cell door creak open as the dim light from the nearly burned out torches in the hall flooded the room. You kept your body relaxed but ready as you pretend to be asleep but ready to attack who ever was in your cell.

Was it an inmate who heard of you capture and was hear to try and kill you for revenge of there home you surely slaughtered? Maybe one of the Holy Knights seeking revenge for there dead families? Whatever the reason you weren't about to drop your guard.

You heard the door shut and there foot steps approach quitly as they tried not to wake you. Then you felt a heat and heard hay cracking from right behind you on your bed. Who ever it was just layed down with you in you hay bed. You couldn't help but tense as you felt an arm around you.

"You awake (f/n)?"

You let out a sigh and opened your eyes turning over to look into his eyes.

"What are you doing here Helbram?"

He smiled pulling you closer to him. "I wanted to see you, most those inside the castle have gone to bed, the rest on night duty are out side so don't worry."

He pulled back a little cupping your cheek. "Plus I wanted to continue what we started earlier," he said as he rubbed his thumb over your lips.

You moved your face away but cuddled closer to him none the less, you couldn't help it really. His body was much warmer than yours. "I don't want to I'm tired..." you answered simply too him.

He sighed and pulled you closer to him. "You know it's only at night I can come see you" he explained trying to earn himself some sugar from you.

You of course still as stubborn as you had always been had a retaliation. "Until I get out of here, after all they only have me on the charge of attacking a holy knight. There is no evidence linking me to any other crime." A smirk played out on your face knowing you had won. Or so you thought.

He sighed losing his arm from around you running his fingers through his hair. He let out a weary chuckle and his eyes seemed distant. "No. Even when you get out. You see I'm a prisoner of sorts here too, except they've got me for life... knight time is the only time I have to myself."

You stared at him, his eyes. They were just like they were the night you met. Lonely, distant, hollow. Then he turned them to you and they changed. He suddenly pulled you in for a hug burying his face into your hair.

"That's okay though, cause at least I have you, at least I have my love. That's enough for me..." he smiled with that emotion feeling his eyes.

What was that emotion. Soon enough you identified it. It was joy, a mindless joy pared with a blinded love. You heart ached for the soul before you. How you longed to love him back, to just fall into the fairytale romance, but you couldn't.

You just couldn't fall in love after the life you've lead. But you know the type he's lead, how much he needed you. You realized when he looked at you that the love he held for you was the only thing of his he could call his own. You were known to be very cruel in that past slaughtering even children in front of there own parents. But you could not take the one thing he had away from him.

You wrapped your arms around him and held him close kissing him. He of course was more than happy to pull you closer to himself and return the kiss. "I thoug by you were tired daeling~" he teased.

"Well you had to get sentimental, so I guess a little wouldn't hurt." You explained, cuddling into his chest.

He was more that happy to take comfort in you sweet embrace easing the strain from his daily job in your arms.

You hated your self. You pitted him. You didn't even know if you loved him, if you ever did. Maybe it was just attraction. Even still you had another emotion that caused such pain to your chest. Guilt, what ate at you had to be guilt.

You listened to his heartbeat, steady and strong, sounding almost like his heart was singing out "I love you" with every beat. His body heat provided more warmth than the small cotton rag that the cell provide as a blanket. His arms became your quilt.

Soon, now being warm, hid heartbeat lulled you to sleep.
