*Picture above is how I imagine their dog.*
Hey! I'm not dead. Sorry for being inactive.
------
It's two days later, every since then Bucky's brain has been 10% food, 10% me and 80% dog.

He's thought of names and has spent hours on the computer figuring out what you need to buy before getting one.

One afternoon I'm laying on the bed as rain continues to pour outside. I watch as Bucky's bun bobbles up and down as his head bounces slightly along to a song he's listening to. He sits across the room at the desk, shirtless and dog obsessed.

"So have you thought of any ideas? Names I mean." I ask him as he turns down the obnoxious heavy metal music and spins on the office chair towards me.

"A few, I don't know how I feel about them though."

I nod half hearted turning on my vibrating phone. "Hey we busy the day after tomorrow?" I ask him. He shakes his head and sighs.

"Wednesday? Don't think so, why?"

"Because that's when we're able to pick up the dog. Unless you want to wait a month, they're very busy appare-."

Bucky interrupts me by spinning towards me again and jumping onto the bed nearly crushing me.

"Hell yes! Please, can we?" When I nod he flops onto his back grabbing a pillow and burying his face into it.

I walk to the computer turning around to see him smirk slightly.

"Buck... why were you googling if dogs count as children?"

Bucky's pov

I wish i could say that adopting a dog doesn't scare me, but i can't. It's a life, an alive being we're in charge of. The main thing that worries me is missions, we're both called to do something now and then and it's often together, when told about this Steve said that "literally anyone would take care of him, especially clint, don't worry" I hope he's right.

The next day is colder than usual which turned the water that had gathered on everything to ice, making easy tasks like walking, taking out the trash or getting out of bed near impossible.

And yet Steven-lets-do-stuff-today-Rogers woke me up at 8:00am like usual, and like most days i dragged him in and cuddled him until he said we were going dog supplies shopping. I then decided to get up.

We arrived at the store and after an hour we were essentially finished.

Bed, food bowls, collar, brush, food etcetera.

And the next day he comes home.

"Assassin." Steve says disapprovingly looking down at the dog sitting on my lap.

"You want to name a dog... assassin."

I smile down at the animal that has begun violently chewing on my metal hand.

"Yeah! Look at this guy! He's a badass."

"he's a puppy. "

"Badass puppy. And when he's older he can help us with missions."

Steve didn't agree but he left the room in defeat, so here we have it. Assassin Barnes, superior to Sam's Red Wing in every way.

"Bucky. Bring assassin in the bedroom!" Steve calls from the room.

Holding the large puppy I begin slowly making my way from the living room to the bedroom to find Steve sitting in the corner curled up in a dog bed.

"Idiot." I laugh holding the dog to my chest and flopping down into our own bed.

"DON'T HURT HIM BUCK!" Steve protests but joins us anyway, he digs his face into assassin's fur as muffled laughter erupts from the bed.

Steve lays on the bed as assassin wanders the room.

"Hey stevie. If the winter soldier comes out... and I go crazy. Get assassin to safety first. Okay?"

His eyes flicker open as he smiles with a look of genuine love on his face.

"That will never happen. You're free now, and there's no one who's going to try to activate it anyway. You're safe buck."

Biting my lip I watch as the puppy now settles in his own bed.

"Who's to say he won't." I laugh pointing to him.

"What if he's Hydra! What if he's a spy for them. OH MY GOD WHAT IF HE'S AN ASSASSIN!?"

I bounce on the bed sending my phone flying onto the floor.

As i smirk at Steve his foot hits me across the head as he laughs loudly.

"Paranoia is one thing, Mr.Barnes. Puns are another."
