Maelynn POV

I know what I said to Angel will come back and bite me in the ass later but I wasn't thinking about that. I was thinking about how mad she made me. Sure we weren't friends anymore but I'd thought she'd respect what we shared in friendship. Even when she started bullying me about my weight I never uttered a disrespectful word towards her or the drama in her family.

But today she went too far. She knows how sensitive I am with the topic of my mom. She didn't care though. She just had to bring her up. I know the eye for an eye thing only leave the world blind but I couldn't hep it. She hurt me with that one. I normally remain quiet because they don't be as harsh when I'm quiet. But like I said, she hurt me so I had to hurt her back. She's living a fantasy thinking she can do and say whatever she wants about me thinking there's no consequence to her actions. I'm not saying now I'll continue running my mouth about her problems but if she keeps bringing up mines I'll definitely bring up hers.

I quickly went to my locker to get my stuff for my other classes. I felt the tears at the back of my eyes but I fought against them. "Hey!" My head snapped up to a furious looking DJ and equal furious looking bunch of croonies. "What your fat ass said to my girl?" My eyes grew large. I took off running. Multiple sets of feet followed me. I ran as fast as I could but it was no use. I wasn't as athletic as the rest of them. They were able to catch me.

"Let me go!" I yelled out. Someone covered my mouth and they dragged me away behind the school. I tried fighting them off but it was too many.

"So I heard you got a mouth now," DJ came into my face. He lifted his hand and smacked me. My face whipped in the opposite direction causing my neck to crack and hurt. "So you a mouthy fat bitch? Huh?!"

"P-Please," I begged. He punched me in the stomach causing me to hunch over.

"Don't you ever in your fat pathetic life try to disrespect my girl again. Got it bitch?" He kicked me knocking all the wind out of me.

"S-Stop," I begged. "I'm s-s-"

"Sorry?" he sneered. He grabbed a fist full of my hair and lifted me off the ground. I hissed in pain. "You ain't sorry yet bitch." I suddenly felt multiple blows coming from all directions. All I could do was cover myself and hope it would end soon. I glanced up and saw Angel smirking down at me. "Don't look at her fat bitch." He kicked me so hard in the face my head slammed back into the wall. I met darkness.

I felt a heavy drop on my face and then others. Suddenly it felt like a shower was running over my head. I opened my eyes slowly and covered my face from the water. I hissed at the pain that was all throughout my body. My head was pounding painfully. I sat up and my vision blurred and everything was spinning. I noticed it wasn't bright outside anymore.

It was raining heavily. Events of what happened flashed through my head. I slowly got to my feet. I couldn't stand straight so I used the wall for support. My tears mixed in with the cold water. I sniffed as I dug my fingers into the rough edges of the building to pull myself forward. I found the door and tried opening it. School must be over if the door's locked. I pushed off the wall and struggled to stand upright. I shuffled forward and went to look for the bus stop. My vision faded in and out and the rain was making it difficult to stay up. It soaked my clothes making them heavy.

I stepped forward and ended up falling into a small hole. My foot twisted one way and made a painful cracking noise. I yelled out as a fell onto the ground. My head smacked onto the ground causing my head to pound painfully. I looked out at dim lights that looked to have been getting closer to me. If this is death, then I welcome it. I closed my eyes and once again submitted to darkness.
