Head gestures reveal the way we see things and how we feel about them. 


1.Head nodding shows agreement. It can occur when invited for a response, or voluntarily while listening.

2.Slow head nodding can be a faked signal of attentive listening.

3.Fast head nodding signifies that the listener feels the speaker has made their point or taken sufficient time. It is like a 'wind up' gesture. 

4.Head held up signals attentive listening, usually with an open or undecided mind, or lack of bias.

5.Head held high indicates superiority, fearlessness or arrogance.

6.Head tilted to one side suggests a level of trust, submissiveness or thoughtfulness.

7.Head forward, upright in the direction of a person or other subject indicates interest. It is considered as  a positive sign.

8.Head tilted downward towards a person is commonly a signal of criticism or reprimand or disapproval, usually from a position of authority.

9.Head shaking generally indicates disagreement, but can also signal feelings of disbelief, frustration or exasperation.

10.Pronounced head shaking relates to strong.

11.Head down (in response to a speaker or proposition)is generally a signal of rejection (of someone's ideas etc).Head down when responding to criticism is a signal of failure, vulnerability (hence seeking protection), or feeling ashamed. 

12.Head down (while performing an activity)  tend to indicate defeat or tiredness.

13.Chin up signifies pride, defiance or confidence.
