You felt tears of happiness swell in your eyes as Brendon began the opening of This Is Gospel. Dan smiled shyly, holding your hand in his.
This is gospel
For the fallen ones
Locked away in permanent slumber
Assembling their philosophies
From pieces of broken memoriesYou felt Dan's lips brush against your forehead gently. You smiled through your tears. He sung along quietly to the lyrics, his eyes asking you to join him. And so you did.
Their knashing teeth and criminal toungues
Conspire against the odds
But they haven't seen the best of us yetYou look up at Dan, his eyes gleaming in the stage lights. This man was the best thing to ever happen to you, besides this concert at least. His chocolate brown eyes met yours. He smiled once again. It seemed all you ever did was smile, but to you, his smile met so much more than anything else. Seeing him happy made you happy, and vice-versa.
The concert concluded with Victorious. You and Dan rocked out, smiling and taking silly vlog videos as well. "I LOVE YOU ALL! THANK YOU, GUYS!" screams Brendon to the crowd before jogging off stage. He smiled at you two. "Hey, thanks for coming. It means a lot," he said to you and Dan. He shook Dan's hand, then gave you a small hug. You squealed in delight. Dan cleared his throat as Brendon pulled away. Brendon was currently shirtless, but hey, it was hot in there, and you weren't complaining. Dan smiled, though it looked slightly less genuine. "Thank you, Brendon!" Said Dan, happily. You grab your phone and quickly ask Brendon for permission to take a selfie. He nods, then takes your phone. "Hey!" You exclaim. He laughed, taking a few silly pictures before posing for a nice one with you, then one with all three of you. He laughed softly. Dan chuckled.
The next few seconds were a blur. Brendon was a married man, and you knew Brendon loved Sarah. This was proof that the following met nothing. Brendon's lips met your cheek swiftly, just to show thanks for being a great fan. Dan released an audible squeak. Brendon smiled at you two. "Thanks, guys. Hope you enjoyed the show tonight. Bye!" He said. Dan just stayed there in a moment of shock. You smiled slightly. "Dan, it's nothing. Really. He is a married man, and besides, I already have a boyfriend," you whisper into his ear. You give it a kiss, then grab your crutches from the side table. "Come on, slow poke!" You began to hobble away towards the exit, Dan following swiftly behind you.
The drive home was a mixture of taking about your personal favorites at the concert, or sending pictutes, or replaying videos that you had taken. It was amazing to have been there, but even more so to have been there with Dan Howell. It seemed like only a few minutes before you were back at home sweet home. You met Connor outside. He was eager to get some pictures and such. You and Dan said your farewells reluctantly. Connor helped you into the house.
"Ice cream?" Connor asked. You nodded, smiling. He smiled back and went to the kitchen to grab the dessert. Your mind began to wander. You hadn't thought about this since before the accident- the deadline to sign up for the college was 3 days ago. You had missed it. The opportunity was gone. And all because of a drunk motorbike dude. You felt a few years form in your E/C eyes, but you refused to let them fall. You blinked them away and managed a slight smile when Connor came back with your favorite flavor of ice cream. Still, you could have a future with Dan. At least there was a bright side....
