My eyes glaze over the floor
You halt, ask, stop again

Your phone flashes blue
Like a dance floor light
Like a failing computer bank

My eyes flash red
Like tears
Like the eponymous sea

You scratch an itch
I glimpse blood on
Someone's lips behind you

Then I blink and my bed
Is warm, there's a city
Underneath me

And yet again
I forget how to say 'home'
