The Plan- Chapter 22

*Luke’s POV*

Jai has been hugging Maddie for like last the 30 minutes

She broke down while we told her about Ami, I was simply speechless I haven't talked to girls much lately and the reaction she had wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Surely I would have been shocked as hell after months thinking your best friend is dead and then hearing that she's actually alive? To be honest I would have reacted completely different way, I would have been mad as hell, I mean I couldn't have been around people in that state.

She's doing better now though, I can't help but think why Jai is so close with her again. Last time he was so mad at her because of her having a boyfriend. I have obviously been clueless about everything. Ami just, she just owns all my thoughts, there's not a thing that wouldn't remind me of her. Everything reminds me of her. The fear in her voice when we had that call was nothing but heart breaking. I shouldn't have ever left her

"Do you have a plan then?" Jai's voice calls me out of my thoughts

The plan

That's the problem, I don't have a plan, and I need help with making up a plan, a real good one

I shake my head and shut my eyes close, I can't cry now

"That is where I need help" I look at Jai, his face is full of worry

I really have missed my brother, even though he's the biggest asshole at times

"I hoped you, Maddie--" I breath out, holding back my tears "you could know something, anything?" now looking at her in the eye

She looks completely lost in her own thoughts, her brain still trying to comprehend what I’d just said

I sigh

-hours later-

We have tried to make up a good plan last couple of hours now, none has left the room other than the odd occasion to use the toilet or grab a drink, lame plans have been chucked too and throw and the best one we came up with is to call the police, again. Or that's what they call the best one, but for me it's absolutely not, it’s not even an option I’d consider, Mitch made it abundantly clear that involving the police will put Ami’s life in danger.

Maddie has stayed quiet ever since I asked her if she could know anything. Her face is pale and hands shaking every time she takes a sip of water. Jai tries to calm her by hugging her but it seems to calm her only for a moment.

We are so lost. I'm so lost

"Roslow" suddenly Maddie's weak voice soaks up all the attention in the room

Her bottom lip trembles "Roslow is friend of Mitch" she shuts her eyes, obviously not wanting to make any eye contact while remembering

"We used to be all friends,--" she breaths shakily "and for me and Roslow more than friends" she looks down at her crossed legs and bites her lip

I'm trying to gather everything in, can this information can help?

"So you think he helps Mitch?" I ask calmly or at least I tried, maybe it came out a little too harsh. This just, this is a huge help to lead us closer to find Ami, my Ami

She nods slightly causing me to smile

“He’s as dumb as twigs but always obeys orders of Mitch despite how he feels” she stuttered

"You obviously have something in your mind?" Beau pokes me on the ribs

"So what is it, spit it out?" Jai smiles giving me more courage to explain to the rest of the group the plan that I was conjuring up

"This will only work if it's okay for Maddie" I look at her giving a convincing look

"As long as it will help us to find A-Ami" she stutters and smiles weakly

“I’m sure of it”  I smile encouragingly although entirely unsure of my plan
