Chapter 10 - Anytime, Boss
I walked towards the bouncers by the door and stopped in front of them. Putting a finger to my lips, I lifted the golden pendant which I kept hidden around my neck. I watched as their eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets before giving way for me to enter. I tucked the pendant away and smiled at one of them. The man in the suit bowed his head and led me into the nightclub.
We walked in and instantly, the mass of dancing bodies parted like the bouncer was Moses and the crowd was the red sea. I tagged along behind him as we crossed to the other side of the huge nightclub. The music was thumping, people were dancing and the scent of alcohol and cigarettes lingered in the air.
After a while, we reached a grand double door. It had intricate carvings on the sides and a fancy doorknob. It definitely stood out to the rest of the dark nightclub. The bouncer swiped a card on some kind of scanner at the side of the door and placed his palm on t as the scanner scanned it. The scanner let out a beep and the double doors opened. The bouncer nodded his head to me as we descended down the staircase to the underground floor.
As soon as we stepped onto the first step, the double doors shut and blue lights came on, lighting the way down. I marveled at the sight of the beautiful inking on the wallpapers of the stairway. When we finally reached the bottom, we walked down another hallway. At the end of it stood another 4 bouncers in suits.
The man who had led me here whispered something to one of them and judging by how his eyes widened, I assumed he passed on the memo where I was from. He instantly pushed on the double doors behind them.
The double doors are way bigger and fancier than the one at the staircase by the way.
When it opened, I was instantly bathed in the sight of dark blue and purple lights. The music's softer in this room and the room's definitely way bigger than the one upstairs. I nodded at the bouncers as they didn't even dare to step into the room and instantly closed the doors. I looked around.
A huge bar was at one end of the room and tables were lined beside the walls in something like booths for privacy. A dance floor's located right in front of the bar with a dozen people dancing on it. Beside the dance floor is an open space which sunk deeper into the floor by a few steps with a black couches in it forming a square. Something like a lounge.
Men were wearing expensive suits and women wore cocktail dresses. If you looked closely, you'd notice the amount of weapons they hid somewhere in their clothes.
Yep, you guessed it.
The basement floor is reserved specially for the underworld. Ironic right? Mafias, gangsters, thieves, assassins- you name it, they're all bad guys.
The Coin is the most expensive nightclub in the whole city. People would kill just to get a drink from The Coin. People go crazy just to enter the nightclub and every night, its packed with people. One night in The Coin and you're most likely going to be broke if you don't have the sufficient funds. And yet idiots still stumble into this club to get high, drunk, laid and shit. Even teenagers enter this club because the club lives up to its name.
No money, no talk. Simple as that.
But just like its name, its two-faced. On the outside, its the most famous nightclub in the city. But if you were to dwell deeper, you'd find out that it also houses the most dangerous criminals just below their dancing feet. But it is also because of these criminals that the nightclub is expensive and famous.
Just think of everything that they could possibly do with their money and power. Yeah, exactly.
Bad guys need their own space for basically everything. Nightclubbing, partying, golfing, studying, everything! Because you won't want to accidentally piss off a mafia boss and land in a hospital bed the next morning with 50 bullet holes because he tortured you endlessly by not shooting you straight in the skull.
