Chapter 13 - Thanks To You
Finding Law's car in the crowded parking lot wasn't that hard.
His was easily the most expensive one there.
I rolled my eyes, walking towards his sleek black Ferrari that was shined to perfection and stood out to the rest of the cars. When I reached his car, I was actually terrified to touch it. I was scared that my fingers would ruin the spotless car that was obviously was more expensive than the house I'm currently staying at.
I suddenly let out a loud squeal as I was lifted off the ground from behind and twirled around. I giggled and smacked Law's arms that were wrapped around my waist. "Put me down, Law!"
Law chuckled but settled me down anyway although he didn't remove his arms. Law buried his face into my hair. "You smell so nice."
I could feel his smile against my head. I nudged him with my elbow with a grin. "So do you, Law." Law loosened his arms around me and took out his keys. The car let out a loud sound and I honestly felt amazed.
Law went to the passenger's side and opened the door. "After you, princess."
"Thank you." I smiled, kissing his cheek before entering the car. But Law was sneaky and fast enough to land a peck on my cheek too when I pulled away. I watched Law climb into the driver's side and place the keys into ignition- the car roaring to life magnificently.
"So." I started, turning my head back to him after watching the car leave the school grounds. "Where are you taking me?"
Law grinned, only sending me short glance. My heart fluttered at the sight of his dimples. "You'll see soon, babe."
"And how long is soon?"
"Around 10 minutes."
I raised a brow at him. "Seriously, Law, where are you taking me? You're not kidnapping me, right?"
"Why are you so concerned about me kidnapping you?" Law laughed. I rolled my eyes with a shrug although I did felt the slight contraction of pain in me which I masked carefully. "Even if I kidnap you, it'll be to elope with you."
I punched his shoulder with a laugh. "Very funny, Valenti."
"Who said I was joking?"
I glared at him and Law gave me a smug grin before he reached out his hand for the radio. I watched as he fumbled around with the system and suddenly, the song 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran blasted through the speakers. I lit up like a little kid on Christmas.
"This is one of my favorites." I beamed at him.
Law gave me an 'oh really?' look, something that was probably deciphered by him as a challenge.
Then Law sang.
"Well I found a girl, beautiful and sweet." He serenaded, glancing at me while singing along the lyrics. "I never knew you were the someone waiting for me." I sat there, mesmerized.
His voice was melodic, soft and soothing. Mesmerizing, captivating and entrancing. Just the right amount of huskiness in his tone to make it sound a bit hoarse, which honestly- just made it better.
I found myself smiling as Law sang, lost in his own world. Once in a while, he'd glance at me and just gaze before he'd smile back at me and turn back to the road again.
Genuinely? My heart fluttered.
"You look perfect tonight." He finished with a soft smile.
A moment silence went by and the song 'Happier' by the same singer came on. Then quietly, I started. "Walking down 29th and park." I sang, glancing at him and our eyes met.
