Tony and Bruce are best friends they lived in the tower working on new things everyday from upgrading energy to tracking a new threat. Mostly the whole team saw it as more than friendship to say the least, the only people who didn't see it was Bruce and Tony. Steve was the exception since he was the innocent one of the team. Today was going to be normal everyone was on a mission which left only Tony and Bruce. Stark didn't plan to fall in love with his Science partner and neither did Bruce but it happened and this is how it went down.

Tony's Pov

I walked into the living room grabbing a soda for know since I made a promise to the team to cut down on alcohol consumption. That's when I heard Bruce give out a frustrating sigh and I knew it was bad either way. I hurried over to see that he was looking at a screen that showed the events of when Ultron attacked. He must have ran into it which I was wishing he hadn't. I sighed walking over to Bruce and laid my hand on his shoulder he tensed up for a second before relaxing. His head looked at me at that moment then I ruined it with my big mouth.
"What's up My green buddy?" I asked I felt bad for Bruce even though I don't show it I cared about the team but I never learn to shut up like Rogers had put it.
"It's never going to get easy. I ruin everything I touch." I lift my hand from his shoulder thinking of what he said. It was true but also a lie he had the team and we definitely had some hulk episodes. The team still stuck with the green guy.
"Brucie my friend were heroes we always do things on accident so you can't blame yourself. It was the witch's fault you went big green on the town." I said looking around the room. I cared about him like I said before but more than that which I've come to terms with a few days ago. I mean how do you explain my one night stands with women and that I never dated anyone? Bruce finally spoke up which caught me off guard.
"I finally figured why the energy for the arc reactor is getting harder to upgrade. We keep making it look harder then it really is." I turned my head over a Banner snapping from my thoughts.
"What do you mean?" I asked seeing as upgrading the Reactor gets complicated.
"I mean like for one compound we thought wasn't good enough for the other compound. We put them together and see what happens." Bruce looked at me and I felt like he was hinting on to more then the components.
"Like adamantium and vibranium. Both of them are in break able. We instantly cancelled them out since the both are the same almost. But if we give them bit a try to work together it might have a better outcome?" I said going along with his hinting he turned around facing me.
"Exactly......Stark listen I have to say something." But before he could speak the team showed up. I looked over at Bruce and he went back to work like nothing happened. I shake it off walking towards the quinjet. When it opened I saw Rogers down with a gunshot to his abdomen and one in his leg. I ran over helping Rogers to the ER with Banner right behind me.

Time Skip

I leaned against the wall outside of the medical area waiting for any news same with Bruce. It was eery silent and I sure didn't like it and I don't think Banner liked it either. Finally I spoke my mind since Bruce was going to tell me something that won't leave me alone.
"What were you saying earlier? It's been on my mind since Rogers came in with some bad injuries." Bruce looked my way then he looked back to the ground before he spoke up.
"Earlier I was talking about the compounds then you went along. Do you know what I was hinting at?" I nodded my head yes knowing where it was going.
"Tony I was wondering...I can't believe I'm doing this. Would you like to go on a date with me?" I turned my head fully at him with a surprised expression even though I knew it was heading to that question.
"Bruce you know I was wondering how to ask you a few days ago." I admitted a bit shyly. My heart was pounding a bit and I knew this relationship wasn't going to be like the rest I had; it was no one nightstand, and Bruce was no Pepper. Bruce looked at me that day with a happier glimmer in his eyes than before.
