The American Dream is a fantasy;
A world that doesn't quite exist.
Some people can achieve it
'It's not so hard,' they insist.
The rest are much less fortunate
Their pleas and prayers dismissed.
When will the Dream be for all?
Not just the lucky few.
When can work pay off?
And they show us how they grew.
Until that day, we'll wait.
And have to simply make due.
The Dream is far-fetched
Intangible, not for us.
Although we talk about it oft,
The faults we can't discuss.
