She stands alone, apart from the rest;
She constantly tries to remind herself,
This life is just a test.
The sounds of music clash in her ears;
The meanings of those words,
So immoral and so wrong,
Bring to the surface those fears.
This world, followed by a throng,
Has become nothing but a life of sin;
It closes around her like a cage,
Forever between those walls she's kept within.
Their enjoyment and fun fill the air;
They never see the harm,
But she can't help seeing the wrong.
Innocence and purity gone,
Ignorance prevails.
She wants to do what's right,
She wants to follow that path;
She tries to speak but the words won't come;
She tries to leave but she's always pulled back.
How does she fight?
How can she pass this test of life?
She closes her eyes;
She blocks her ears;
She reminds herself,
One day she will be rewarded--
If she aces the tests of these years.
She finally walks away,
Reminds herself of Him;
He will be her guide to a life she craves,
Free of sin, free of sinful desires followed on a whim.
