My Sunshine

When the sun is rising

casts shadows and crimson gold

we marvel at the beauty

a safe haven of light

shining down on the earth

rays of warm sunlight

shine down on my face

I will not take this for granted

this new love that I have found

but cherish forever how long it lasts

whether it be a

month or millenium

You waited for almost two years

for this day to come

waiting for that sunshine to emerge

waiting for the beauty to come

for it is forbidden

but not for much longer

we can not wait

almost three years more

it's been too long

I see that now

this isn't Romeo and Juliet

we have better chances

don't let the lights fade out

don't let this die down

don't wanna hide the truth

don't wanna forget you

It's woven in my soul

latticed with hope

we need to realize this now

realize the sun is coming now

should I bite my lip

till blood soaks my shirt

waiting so long

the sun might die

if you be with me

I will not forget

I need this more

than you ever knew

I don't know how

I can tell you
