"I just got off the phone with Stiles," Lexi announces, walking back into the loft. Derek stands, concern etched into his expression. "Everyone's alive, for now. Lydia cracked another third of the list. Noshiko and Brett Talbot were both on it. They caught an assassin trying to kill Brett at the game. Her boyfriend managed to cut him with some wolfsbane, so we gotta get to the clinic right now."
She turns to leave, but Derek stops her. "How'd you know?" He asks, making her stop.
"Know what?"
"That I'm losing my power?" She turns back to him. "You said you have never seen this before."
"Der, I know you," she says softly. "I know when something is wrong."
"But Kate escaping is not worth my power." Derek states.
"Yes, it is." Lexi sighs. "There is nothing I wouldn't do for you, do you understand that? Derek, I don't know what I would do if you were ever—" She cuts herself off, taking a deep breath. "I need you to be safe and happy, ok? I can't see you sad again. I won't."

"What the hell is happening to this kid?" Stiles exclaims as he, Lexi, and Derek try to hold Brett still.
"He's been poisoned by a rare wolfsbane," Deaton explains. "I need to make an incision, and you need to hold him as still as possible."
"Hey, Derek, Lexi, how about a little werewolf strength?" Stiles begs.
"Yeah, we're not the only ones here with werewolf strength." Derek retorts as yellow liquid bubbles from Brett's mouth.
"If we can't hold him still, the incision might kill him!" Lexi yells.
"Guys, he's slipping. I don't think I can hold him. Ah!" Stiles gets cut off by Brett pushing him and Lexi back and scratching Derek. Lexi's head slams against the back wall, creating a big hole in the brick. She slides to the ground, vision blurring.
Brett makes a run for it, but Peter appears in the doorway, knocking the beta to the ground. Derek helps Lexi up, letting her lean on him, as he gapes at his uncle.
"I guess I still have a little werewolf strength myself," Peter states happily.
"Yeah, maybe more than a little." Derek scoffs as Lexi brings a hand to her head wound. She inhales sharply at the pain, and Peter's expression falters, seeing not only Lexi in pain but also Derek's slow healing wound from Brett.
"Hey, Doc, I don't think he's breathing," Stiles says. Deaton kneels down and makes an incision in Brett's chest. A puff of yellow smoke plumes and Brett relaxes. "Is he okay?" Stiles asks as Derek's wound heals.
"I think he'll be fine, but probably out for a while." Deaton sighs.
"Can you hear that?" Lexi questions, honing her hearing. "I think he's saying something."
"The sun... The moon... The truth..." Brett whispers. "The sun... The moon... The truth..."
"Three things cannot long be hidden. The sun, the moon, and the truth." Deaton repeats. "It's Buddhist."
Peter looks back at his remaining family members, remembering the only Buddhist he's met. "Satomi."

"Has anyone seen Stiles, Lydia or Kira today?" Ms. Flemming asks the class. "Malia. Any idea where your friends are?"
"I could try catching their scent," Malia suggests bluntly.
"Right." The teacher drawls. "How about I just mark them down as absent?"
"Malia..."
"Okay, everyone, let's begin with last night's homework," Ms. Flemming says. Malia looks around, trying to find the source of the voice.
"Malia..."
Malia stands and grabs her bag. "Malia. Do you need to be excused from class?" Ms. Flemming questions.
"Yeah," Malia states as if it were obvious before she follows the voice to the stairwell. She sees Lexi waiting there, a shirt in her hand. "What are you doing here?"
"Brett's still out of it. I need to find his pack and warn them about the deadpool." Lexi tells her worriedly.
"So what do you need me for?"
"I know a little something about this pack. They have a kind of secret meeting place in the woods. No one's spent more time in the woods of Beacon Hills than you. This is Brett's. Breathe it in." She holds out the shirt.
"I'm not good at that yet," Malia mutters, slightly unsure of herself.
"Try it. I'll teach you." Lexi smiles. "Focus on the different scents. Some are tied to identity. Others give off an emotion." Lexi holds out the shirt for her to take. Malia hesitates before taking the shirt and breathing in.
Her eyes flutter open, a determined look on her face. Lexi grins, "Let's go."
Being sick sucks. Finals are annoying and final projects make me want to rip up my paper.
Sorry for the short chapter. The next will be short as well but some really cute Dexi is coming up! Hope you enjoyed!
