Sherlock always said sentiment was a chemical defect on the losing side. I'd never believed him, at times thinking him a heartless machine. But in that one, split second moment, I understood completely. I believe my heart hardened at the world that had caused me so much pain, made me go through so many hardships. That I lost sight of what I'd been holding on to for so long. That was the moment I stopped believing in Sherlock Holmes.
