Through The Wars To Reach The Stars

Chapter 2

We were waiting outside the door to one of the control centers, Luke was acting as a distraction back at the ship, and it had worked, the door slip up and no sooner had it done so then Han blasted everything and Chewbacca started to wail.

We entered the room, Luke running up behind us and closing the door after him "ya know between his wailing and you blasting everything it's a wonder the whole station doesn't know we're here" Luke gave out to Han who looked indignant "he's got a point" I said, agreeing with Luke, Han just rolled his eyes "bring 'em on, I'd prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around" he sounded as though all he wanted was to take on the entire death star by himself.I just sighed and decided that we'd get things done more smoothly if I didn't say anything.

C-3PO informed Ben of the computer outlet and R2-D2 began to search it for a way to get the power beam shut down. There were seven stations that connect to it and taking one out would enable the beam to be shut down.

"I must go alone" Ben strode toward the door, I made to follow him but "no, you must stay here. Trust me" Ben had turned around and fixed me with a soft but stern look. I nodded and stepped back, holstering my blaster which I had taken out when I stepped forward. Han was complaining about the trip and Luke wanted to go with Ben, but Ben ignored Han and shot down Luke the same as me.

Ben was saying to protect the droids and that his and Luke's destinies were different. But I wasn't listening because the moment Han began to complain I hit him up the back of the head, which was no easy feat as I'm only about 5"3 and Han must be at least 6 foot. Han and I were now locked in a silent glaring match, each of us trying to intimidate the other, neither of us were getting very far.

We looked up when Luke closed the door. Chewbacca wailed again "boy you said it Chewy, where did you dig up that old fossil?" Luke strode passed Han,

"Ben is a great man"

"Yeah great at getting us into trouble"

"I didn't hear you give any ideas"

"Well anything's better than just hanging around waiting for him to pick us up"

"Boys!"

"Who do think you are?"

"BOYS!"

Luke and Han looked over at me "the droids found something, and can you two please stop acting like spoiled children" I stood, rather like a demented mother, with my hands on my hips and my left foot tapping impatiently "sorry" Luke mumbled "anything for you sweetheart" Han winked sarcastically, I just rolled my eyes and nodded at C-3PO "whatcha got for us goldie?"

"I'm afraid I'm not quite sure ma'am, R2-D2 says I've found her and keeps repeating she's here" Luke walked over to the droids, I just looked questioningly at Han who shrugged his shoulders. "Who? Who has he found?" Luke was looking at the small blue droid "Princess Leia" C-3PO said, matter of factly. "The princess she's here!" Luke looked astonished "princess?" Han and I questioned together. "Where, where is she?" Luke demanded of the golden droid, "princess? What's going on?" Han demanded of Luke "yeah, Luke what are you talking about?" I questioned, I was behaving somewhat more calmly than the two boys were.

"Level 5, detention block AA 23, I'm afraid she's scheduled to be terminated" C-3PO interrupted R2-D2's beeping. "Oh no! We've got to do something" Luke had a heroically crazy look in his eye. "No way, we're not going anywhere, we're going to stay here and wait for Ben" I commanded, Han was shaking his head at Luke "I agree with the migit" he said "thank you, wait...hey!" 

"R2 says your friend is here also, ma'am" I looked at C-3PO in shock "Andrew is here? What's he doing aboard the Death Star?" R2 beeped some more and I looked expectantly at C-3PO "he's being held prisoner, in the same block as the princess, he's also scheduled to be terminated." It took a moment for the information to sink in, Han and Luke were look expectantly at me "we're going to get them" I said quietly after I regained a comprehensive though process.
