She felt the satin of the dress being wrapped around her skin. The long, sleek form-fitting dress complimented her now falsely tanned skin. The cream veil stood stark against her dark brown hair as it cascaded down her back.
"I'm so proud of you," her older sister squeals. The excitement surrounding this day was coming from everybody but her. She still manages to weakly smile at her sibling, acting as if she too is truly happy.
"I'll leave you alone for a few," she nods her head toward her sister as the latter slips out of the room.
The minute she's alone, she begins to cry. Her makeup begins to smear slightly which only makes her cry more.
She's a mess.
And he's not here.
