(BEEN A WHILE EH?! Here ya'll go!)
You giggle loudly as you were rolled down the sidewalk by Matthew, the wind from it messing up your hair. He was chuckling, his laughs mostly blocked by his slightly labored breathing. He ran for who knows how long- you weren't keeping track - before slowing to walk, complaining about his legs.
"Wuss." You grumbled, still a bit giddy for the movement.
"You try it!" He snapped back at you.
"My legs are broken, you idiot!"
"Right." His cheeks turned red. He was silent for another few minutes. You didn't mind it; you were enjoying the nice weather. There was a slight breeze rustling the grass around you, flowing through your hair and soothing a small throb of pain that had appeared because of your legs.
You reached out to brush a low-hanging leaf of a tree, which glowed green in the sunlight, sending a net of lime colors splayed out on your hand. A flower was bloomed a few inches up, and you reached out for it. You barely missed it and you sighed.
A jerk back of the chair sent you forward a little, and your heart caught in your throat before you remembered that you weren't in a car. Matthew was backing up. But, why?
The question was answered as he plucked the flower off the branch. He rolled the stem of it between his fingers, watching it swirl for a few moments, before handing it to you.
"Saw you try and grab it." He explained. He sounded nervous, for some.. odd reason. Your heart whacked firmly against our ribs, for your fingertips brushed as the beautiful, fragile plant was passed from stronger hands to smaller ones. A surge of warmth shot up that same arm, almost reaching your cheeks. Why was your body acting like this?! Was it because of the medicine? The air?
You inspected the used-to-be bud. It had small white petals, each barely the size of your pinky nail, with pale yellow veins running from the darker center outward like a fan, following the curve as if drawn into it, rather than created by nature. It wasn't anything you'd ever seen before, and you loved it.
"Thanks for getting it down!" You said happily, tucking the flower into an opening of your phone case, making sure it stayed there. It reflected the light, yet also let it filter through. They were perfectly balanced, and you were confident you could stare at it for hours.
"You're welcome." Matthew's wonderful voice pulled you from your admiring look, and you rotated your torso, smiling brightly at him. He grinned back with a pink tint on his cheeks. Or was it the sun? You didn't know anymore.
Facing forward, you watched as the (C/A/P) (Choose a place) you had suggested slowly grew in size as you approached. Almost no cars were parked out front, which made you very glad. You adjusted your shirt as Matthew abandoned you to open the door. A rush of cool air exploded in your face as he did so, sending goosebumps up and down your limbs.
"Now I gotta figure this out.." He mumbled, trying to keep the door open with his foot and grab your chair at the same time.
"You could just hold the door and let me wheel in." You suggested.
"I was going to be a gentleman but fine." He whined. You chuckled before rolling in quickly, pretending like you were about to run him over. He made a noise as you went past him.
"There is no one here." You said before whistling softly. It was very quiet, and the lights were dimmed more than usual.
"Hello!" Squeaked a voice from a counter. "Welcome!" Your neck whipped your head around to see an average-height girl. She was a bit bigger, but you didn't think she was fat in any way. Her hips jutted out further than her waist. She had bright strawberry blond hair with blond ends that flowed down almost to her tailbone. Her left eye had a very small brown dot on the edge closer to her nose. One eye was more gray than the other, but it wasn't way too noticeable. A small name tag was pinned over where her heart would be. "KARA" it read. (YEPPERS!! This is me!!)
"Hi!" Matthew said. She grinned at him. Small dimples formed on the sides of her chin, just below her lips.
"I know you from YouTube! MatPat! Big fan!" She didn't speak like a crazy fan girl, she sounded civil about it. But she was certainly a big ball of energy.
"Great!" You replied for Matthew. "I'm Y/N!"
"Wonderful." She was a bit quieter now, but she was still just as inviting. "Come with me!"
She led the two of you to a table. After Matthew was seated, and you were rolled up to the edge, she handed both of you a menu, excusing herself to wait while you searched.
Kara returned five minutes later and took the drink and food orders. She hurried away, her sneakers making no noise on the floor under her light jean shorts and simple black shirt.
"So," Matthew started, "Who are your parents? I already met your sister."
"M/N (Mother's name) and F/N (Father's name)." You replied. "They ditched me and S/N when she turned fifteen." You added. You had said that sentence so many times, you never minded anymore.
Matthew gasped, as did everyone when you explained. Then, he looked at your expression- which was calm as all hell -and dropped his worried look instantly.
"Here's your food and drinks!" Called Kara.
You and Matthew continued chatting through the lunch, until you had to leave. He rolled you out after paying for everything- he had insisted -and returned you to the hospital.
(Time skip)
You two spent the rest of the day together; shopping, eating, seeing a movie, and taking random.. rolls and strolls.
He had also driven you home. You both had sat in silence, listening to the radio. It wasn't awkward, neither of you needed to speak.
"Let's see if I can do this again." Matthew picked you up the way a man would hold his new bride and set you gently on the hood of the car. He got out the chair and set you in that. It was around ten o'clock and you were VERY sleepy. So, as soon as you managed you get in bed, you fell asleep, a certain brown eyed, brown haired face surrounding your dreams.
(OMG THIS WAS SOOOO BAD!!! I AM SO ASHAMED!! But, it has been a while and I decided you guys needed an update so you know I haven't given up. I have important testing tomorrow at the time of writing this, so I'm sneaking this all in. Have a nice day/ night!)
(Ps- Wish me luck!)
