w h e n i w a s 15,
I was introduced to the math lesson 'Probabilities'.
My dad is a high school math teacher who can, in my opinion, do much better than that. I'm naturally curious and have a knack for arithmetic stuff, so when I found an old math text book of his in one of the many cardboard boxes piled in the attic on a rainy Sunday afternoon, I dusted it off and opened it. The first thing I noticed was the slightly slanted and elegant handwriting of my dad. His name was written on the upper left corner. I randomly opened a page and the heading was 'Probabilities' in bold.
Three hours later, my head was pulsating with ideas and theories. I rushed to my room, the old math book in hand and took a calculator. The next day, I started researching the topic. And I never stopped.
I still wonder, as I look at you talking across the small coffee shop while sipping a latte, what would've happened if I had not opened that book? Would I still be here, mentally calculating the probabilities of right here, right now?
