Finding Calypso

Chapter 3

After we left the docks, it was a pretty boring day. "Do we actually know where to go?" Annabeth asked. I glared at her. She raised her hands in surrender and backed off. While she was backing away, she tripped over a bag and the bag yelped. I open the bag. I almost scream when I see a girl. She can't be older than 8. She has white blonde hair, electric blue eyes, and pale skin. Daughter of Apollo. "What are you doing here Sydney?" Says a quiet voice that makes me jump. Nico's voice. "You know her?" I ask. He nods. The girl called Sydney grins a toothy smile. "I told you I would find a way to come Nico." Nico facepalms and starts pacing. "Oh dear Hades. Apollo himself asked me to watch her! I tried to get her to stay there so she'd be safe but no." Nico, the king of death, taking care of an 8 year old daughter of Apollo. I smirk but it ends up turning into a grin. Nico glares at me, "you find this funny Valdez?" "No." The rest of the gang has seen Sydney by now. "Well, we need to turn around and take her back," Jason and Annabeth say at the same time. Annabeth smiles shyly at him. I raise an eyebrow and he gives me a look that says 'i'll talk to you later'. I shrug. Sydney glares at us. "If you take me back, I'll tell daddy that you took bad care of me and he'll kill you." Then she smiles pleasantly. Clarissa looked like she was about to murder Sydney. "I swear if you do, I will put you in so much pain you will regret this day you little-" Clarissa lunged at Sydney and Nico grabbed her just in time. Her converse high tops sticking out straight towards me. Sydney smirks and skips toward the cafeteria. Piper starts to talk, "ok guys, we're gonna have a movie night tonight." Woohoo. Great. All the couples go together. I might as well ask Sydney to come with me. Ugh. I sigh.

Later during the movie everyone (besides me and Sydney) are locking lips. I get up and walk out. Sydney follows me out. "Eww," she makes a face. I sigh, "I know right?" We silently eat popcorn. "Do you have a girlfriend?" She asks. I roll my eyes, "sort of. We... well... um... you've heard of Calypso right?" Her popcorn falls out of her mouth. "You like Calypso?!" Heat rises to my face and I nod. She gets up and dances around singing, "you like Calypso, you like Calypso." I throw a handful of popcorn at her. "So what's the deal with you stowing away in my ship?" She sits down and gets a sad look on her face. "I... well... I just wanted to feel like I was a part of something. Apollo never let's me go on quests so I thought for once I..." She trailed off. "I get it." We say in silence for a bit and Piper walked in, "Leo you should have a bar in here!" She said drunkly. I've never seen her drunk before. "Your underage Piper!" I say. She gives me a smirk and stumbles back into the movie room. Sydney bursts out laughing. As soon as the movie was over, you could tell who was drunk and who wasn't. Frank, Hazel, Jason, and Annabeth were sober. While Piper, Percy, Clarissa, and surprisingly Nico were drunk. Annabeth looked pissed. She walks straight into her room and slams the door. Jason takes me aside, "Percy broke up with Annabeth and Piper broke up with me." Plot twist. "They were both drunk! They didn't mean it" He should look upset. He doesn't. "They broke up before everyone got drunk. But the thing is, Annabeth and I were going to break up with them to be together." I am so confused. "So Piper likes Percy and you like Annabeth?" He nods. Well things are getting even more awkward. Clarissa and Nico walk in making out. I'm getting tired of this so I gesture to Sydney and walk to an extra room. She doesn't say anything. She just jumps into bed. I walk to my room slowly and see Piper sneaking into Percy's room. I decide to see what's going on. Percy throws himself on top of Piper and she groans. I feel sick. I storm back to my room and start to consider throwing everyone but Hazel, Frank, and Sydney off the ship.
