I do not own Harry Potter at all. All book and movie credit goes to the magnificent J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros.

A/N: Mmkay, so I love this chapter, and I loved writing it(: I hope you guys like it too, because it adds to the main plot. Read, Vote, and Review for a quicker update!

DRACO'S POV:

My heart crumbled and I whispered, "W - Why?"

She saw the look on my face and gasped, "No! No, I don't mean no contact. I just want to be friends for now. I don't want to be broken-hearted this year..." She mumbled the last part, but I could still understand it.

I nodded, extremely disappointed. She gave an encouraging smile and asked, "How has your summer been?"

"Awful. I'm always either at Theo's or in the library. Theo's house is great, but his father is just as bad as mine. I think they are intending to raise the Dark Lord soon." I responded frowning.

She gasped and looked me with wide eyes, "What? No! Harry will be in danger!"

I rolled my eyes when she mentioned Potter and she noticed, slapping my arm. I mumbled an apology.

I quickly changed the subject, asking, "How was your summer?"

She gave a small smile saying, "Mum and Dad brought me to Australia for a three weeks. It was so beautiful there."

I smiled at her, then asked, "Did you get a dress for the Yule Ball?"

"The Yule Ball? Isn't that a traditional part of the TriWizard Tournament? Why would I go to that?" She asked, puzzled.

"They're hosting it at Hogwarts this year. Mum told me about it."

She nodded and replied laughing, "Oh! Yes, mum mentioned it, but I just thought she was confused."

I laughed, "No, she wasn't confused. I had to get new dress robes just for the occasion."

She blushed a bit, still laughing.

I heard a large thump from outside, and Hermione checked her watch.

"We have to go! We've been gone for nearly an hour!" She whisper-yelled to me.

I nodded and went out my door first, checking for my father. When the coast was clear, I gave Hermione a signal. She went running out of the tent first. I went running after her, stopping at the sight in front of us. At least 15 Death Eaters stood with their backs turned away from us. I grabbed Hermione's arm and dragged her back inside.

"What are you doing?" She quietly protested.

"We have to go out the back door." I said rushed.

I ran toward the back exit with Hermione following. I let her leave first, making sure they didn't catch her. She gave me a swift goodbye hug and went running toward the stadium. I watched as she left, carefully maneuvering around tents.

I groaned inwardly at her statement from before. I didn't want to be just friends... I wanted to be more than that, but if that's what she wants, I'll oblige.

I went back inside to my room, hearing father enter the tent. He burst into my room growling, "Where have you been?"

My mind raced for a quick lie, "I was - uh - feeling nausea and decided the lay down for a bit."

"You should have told me! You insolent boy!" He seethed, slapping me.

I looked down at my feet, refusing to give him a single shred of respect.
