Right now we have learned how to construct sentence and we have learned simple nouns, but we should try to get to more difficult Afrikaans levels. You can't expect to improve or learn Afrikaans in you don't speak or practise it everyday.......
Lesson four is all about Negative words and how they change.
Iemand (someone)- niemand(no one)
Iets (something) - Niks (nothing)
Nee (no)- Ja (yes)
Êrens - nêrens (No where)
Moenie (dont)..........
Examples of how we could use these words.
Well firstly we have to add the word 'nie'
Soos byvoorbeeld...(like this)
Ek lees n boek.
(I am reading a book.)
Ek lees nie n boek nie.
Note that the nie was added after the verb and at the end of the sentence.Ek speel met my vriende.
(I am playing with my friend's.)
Ek speel nie met my vriende nie.Ek wil skool toe gaan.
(I want to go to school.)
Ek wil nie skool toe gaan nie.Ek hou van my onderwyser.
(I like my teacher.)
Ek hou nie van my onderwyser nie.Ek gaan saam met my ouers.
(I am going with my parents.)
Ek gaan nie saam met my ouers nie.
(I am not going with my parents.)Try these sentences out for practise
Ek is lui.
(I'm not lazy)Hy dra ń Lang broek.
(He is wearing a long pants.)Hy is lief vir haar.
(He loves her.)
.....practise and learn these basic sentences and next time we will do the words that change in negative form.
