A year later...
It was as if a familiar wind brushed my side with a bittersweet caress, making me remember that day when an important part of our home walked away.
I turned my body towards that persistent draw,
And then I saw her,
Lianne.
A Lianne who was so changed. She was smiling. Two girl friends on her arms.
And then she lifted her head and stared directly at me. I imagined what she saw,
A young man looking thunderstruck.
"Shun..." she whispered. A voice so faint but I would still hear it no matter what the distance.
When our eyes met, her smile remained.
Though her eyes changed.
It was with the eyes where it was real.
And now those eyes were cold and empty.
It was the same with mine.
We were trying so hard to fix ourselves without needing anybody.
And yet, in the end,
It was still not enough.
