luck rolls for tides
cause gambling's a vice
life's most unknown price
The house always wins, where you been?
quarters spent, quarters earned
playing through luck is by choice
till life's curtains close
whether by wheel, cards or machines
no one loses to the devil's deals
fist clenched with hope
gambling's a struggling rope
no end to the system knows
only knots and bolts
rusting probability machine
locked in a torturous daydream
tables do flip, trust the cards
we do not rest till we get this hand...
