Two Fingers - Jake Bugg

They had a couple of nights like that one. Some nights consisted of purely talking and laughing, others were repeat of that night.

Johnny would usually wake up at 9am, in the same bed, however Juliet being gone, simply because she was already prepared for the day.

The others began to notice that Johnny and Juliet were sleeping elsewhere, and obviously they instantly came to the conclusion that they were sharing a bed and doing "business". They didn't really find it a surprise, so none of them really bothered asking what was going on between them.

Johnny, Bam, Dunn and Dave stood in the kitchen, then others sprawled about in the living room watching whatever was available on a Sunday afternoon.

"Man, you look tired." Dave realised the bags under Johnny's eyes, the others noticing also.

"Thanks, Dave." Johnny replied sarcastically, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands and leaving them there for a little while.

"Yeah, why do you look so exhausted?" Bam asked, Johnny yawning before answering.

"Juliet gets up at about 6am. I tried to get up earlier to see what she's up to, but it knocks me out." Johnny held his hands out in question, letting them drop to his sides as he stared across the room.

Bam and Dunn eyed one another, then looked back to Johnny, who narrowed his eyes in suspicion at the two.

"Oh god, what?" He seemed more alert, Ryan clearing his throat, decreasing the volume of his voice.

"Juliet had a little routine with Michael when he was alive; they'd wake up at 6, cuddle and talk for about ten minutes, eat at like 6:30, and then they'd both get ready for work...-" Ryan explained the process very simply, Johnny making mental notes in his head as he did so.

"-I guess she still does that routine because she can smell him on the bedsheets and she can feel someone beside her."

It was sad that Juliet did this; no doubt she was going to do this with anyone who slept in that bed with her, because it reminded her of him.

But it would never be him. It couldn't.

"She's gonna be the death of me." Johnny almost whispered in a quiet tone.

"You knew what you'd signed up for when you met her." Ryan shrugged his shoulders and as he refreshed Johnny's memory.

"I haven't "signed up" for anything. I don't love her." Johnny was angered by the fact he felt he had fun poked at him by the guys, even though he was well aware they were all being serious.

"Well, stop messing her around then." Ryan placed his hands on the island, leaning towards Johnny in a hushed tone.

"How am I messing her-"

"-Don't you dare even finish that question, Johnny." Bam seethed through gritted teeth, Johnny mirroring his face.

"I don't know what you want me to do, guys. Help a brother out."  Johnny pleaded with a stern expression still remaining.

"Stop sleeping with her because you're too scared to admit that you're in love." Ryan responded quickly and easily, his eyes shifting to Juliet in the living room.

"I know you want her. Stop doing whatever this is and go get her." Bam encouraged, almost pained by what Johnny was doing to her.

"How could you ever give me advice on going for a girl?" Johnny glared at Bam, who clenched his fists and squared up to Johnny, who scoffed.

"And how could you do the same to Steve-O when you are just as bad as he was." Bam retaliated, Johnny a lot less amused.

"I was protecting her from him-"

"-We'll have to start protecting her from you, Johnny." Bam attempted to make Johnny realise what he was doing, but he still remained oblivious to it.

"Just sort out what ever the fuck is happening in the rest of your life right now and start to actually show that you fucking care about her." Bam and Ryan abandoned the kitchen.

"What is wrong with those guys?" Johnny asked mainly himself, Dave overhearing.

"They have a point, y'know." Dave spoke through his ham and cheese sandwich. Johnny sighed and looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Not you as well." Johnny whined, Dave shaking his head immediately.

"I'm not siding with either one of you, but you can't yell at Steve-O for hurting her when you're doing the exact same thing. It makes it worse that you're not under the influence of drugs or alcohol either; it makes it seem like you choose to do it with your own free will." Dave said calmly, Johnny coming to terms with the fact that he was hypocritical towards Steve-O.

"And if you like her or whatever, you shouldn't be trying to make her jealous or flirting with anyone else."

He hated it when they were right.
