Kaori! What can i say about her that other watchers of the show haven't? You can't hate her at all really, with her Peanuts quotes and bubbly personality. She's got sass that makes her even more likeable. She lives for music, and she has a very postive outlook on the world, yet she is so much deeper then that. She's one of the most realistic and well developed characters i've seen across anime. Truly one to be seen by any anime watcher. Her conflict: Kaori's body has turned against her her whole life. She has been deafly ill since childhood, and in and out of the hospital a lot. This is where Kaori's free spirit comes from, as she knows one day she may die, so she lives her life to the fullest. She meets Kousei very close to the end of her days, and forms a companionship with him, get's him to return to the piano. Sadly that's when her health takes a turn for the worst. She starts to lose all hope, telling Kousei to reset his mind, and forget about her. She didn't know that as she has saved Kousei, Kousei would do the same for her. He gives her back that yearning for life, and a want to not die. She wants to risk it all to play with Kousei again....
Her Death
Her death was something Foreshadowed for several episodes, but when it happened, it still hit hard. The way she symbolically faded away in Kousei's mind. Then you had the letter, the real tear jerker, when she talked about how she had lied in April, saying she liked Watarai, and she really loved Kousei. Plus that ending picture, i mean wow, still i do wonder if it ended truly with Tsubaki and Kousei together. I like their romance sure, but Kaori and Kousei were my main couple.Overall: Kaori is now amongst my top 5 favorite anime characters, and i will compare to her when looking for more greats.
Let's talk about it in pm if you've seen it.
