It's been awhile since I have really covered anything from this series,  Hasn't it? I guess it sort of faded into Obscurity after I lost most methods to watch the original series dubbed,  but now,  I am back at it! Today, we're looking at something that by every sense was hyped,  that being the first feature length adventure of the classy Demon Butler Sebastian and his young Master.

What needs to be addressed first is the fact that this is actually an adaptation of Manga content,  instead of filler like much of the Show resorts to from what I've heard.  Having not read the original Manga,  I will not be judging the Source Material's  author under this regard,  but specifically the dub writers.

I can not call Book Of The Atlantic flawless , there was quite a balance between things that I enjoyed and disliked while I was watching.
The main problem is that with a franchise that has such a unique take on reapers,  I felt that besides the sort of interesting concept of who actually resurrected them, and the novelty of them being on a fictional Titanic , the undead of this film are very dull and cliche obstacles.

From This moment on,  I will have to go into spoiler territory to tell you what I really loved about the film.
Sebastian and Ciel as the Butler and Master duo is always a highlight of course,  Sebastian being one of my favorite characters,  along with Grell. Grell and the new reaper are also an amazing part of the film,  even if they only have a handful of scenes in the movie , they provide some good comedy and fights into the movie.

One of my favorite segments in this movie has to be the Badass Lizzie scene, with her explaining how she wanted to protect Ciel in many different ways,  and never wanted to show him her less womanly side , which made for some great insight and character development on her part.

The last thing I loved was the flashback sequence that gives a bit of a view of what Sebastian's first days as Ciel's servevant went , a moment which I found a bit heartwarming and comedic at the same time. I knew about many of these things from facts video's I watched,  but seeing them put to into motion was really cool.

Finally,  I have to talk about what I found to be the most divisive in the movie , and it may only be because of my ceiling experience with the franchise as a whole.
The reveal of Undertaker actually being a retired reaper this entire time had no real affect on me as a watcher. I wasn't exactly shocked by it at all,  It honestly made a lot of sense , but there was no real build up to it for me.
I only knew Undertaker as a character from a single episode of the series,  and from a couple of bits from Book of Murder,  so seeing this realization come to everybody felt very rushed and unwarranted.
The positive side to that is the fact that I actually found the Undertaker's true form , the reaper behind the facade he'd put on to be superior to it in every way. This Undertaker has a pretty awesome design , especially with his old fashioned scythe,  and is far less annoying to me than the act he had been putting on all along.

Overall: I had fun with this movie,  despite some of the problems I had with it,  and would still recommend it to someone who either wants to get into the series,  or is a km Avid fan even.
8/10
