As the season starts up we figure out something. Something really obvious. We are really fucking good. By Valentine's Day we were 10-0-3 and it doesn't look think we're slowing down any time soon. I'm playing some of the best hockey of my life, but let's just say I had a little bit of extra motivation. With the team doing so good and the band taking over the music world I felt on top of the world. All the shit with the lockout and going away was so worth it. Chicago was my kingdom and with Elizabeth we were ruling it.

As for Valentine's Day, I had something great planned. After a nice romantic breakfast at IHOP we mess around with Precious at her place before I take her to the sears tower and she looks at me weird. Usually our dates consists of us somehow sweating or competitive because we both like to think we're better than each other at everything so coming here was probably a surprise for her.

"You know I don't like doing fancy things and neither do you. Don't you think a dinner up here over looking the city is a bit cliche" she asks as we walk in with her hand in mine.

"I do. I got you a date with a little bit of a better view" I tease. She raises her eyebrow and I click the button for the top floor. We ride up in the elevator and laugh when it's one of her songs playing.

"Did you do that" she giggles.

"Actually no. That's all them" I admit. Their music was everywhere and especially in Chicago. We get to the roof and there's a helicopter waiting for us.

"Oh my god, no way" she squeals and I laugh. She was so adorable.

"Only the best for my queen" I tease. I grab her hand and pull her to the aircraft. The helicopter driver comes out and greets us and I feel Lizzie beaming under my arm.

"Alright kids. Looks like you guys are going to get the best seats in the house to see Chicago. We have a hour ride over the city and water then will land here again. Any questions" he asks. We both shake our heads and he welcomes us on the plane as we get strapped in with head sets.

"You ready" I ask her and she smiles bright.

"I'm so fucking excited" she admits and I laugh. And to think she was worried I was just taking her out to diner. Pshhh.

We take off and I was a little scared at first. But I feel her hand slide in mine and all of the sudden I felt great once again. I look out the window and see the city I've lived in for almost six years in a way I've never seen it. A whole new perspective and it was so beautiful.

"Wow, I've lived here all my life and I had no clue what was right above my head" she says.

"It's the sky high city. Filled with broad shoulders and famous people. Always something new to see" the driver jokes. We ride around for a little just looking at things. I take a bunch of pictures and some of Elizabeth because I can never have enough of those. We go over the park and the pier, from Wrigley to Michigan Avenue. We study every inch of this great city and the whole time Elizabeth had a smile on her face. Her crazy hair blowing everywhere in the cock pit. I take a picture because I needed that in my life then I take a selfie for keepsake. One day, when we get married, I'm going to want these to remember our time together.

A hour later we land back on the sears tower and I thank the pilot. We head back down and out to the car but stop outside of it.

"Patrick that was one of the coolest moments of my life. And all the other ones involve you too. Thanks for always keeping my life interesting and loving me so much" she says very seriously.

"This isn't just a Valentine's Day thing, every day with you is like Valentine's Day because I'm always surrounded by love when you're around. And I know these little dates aren't good enough for you. I know you better than I know anyone and I know I can give you what your heart desires. And our heart wants the same thing. Adventure, love, history. That's why we're so good together. And that's why you are the most important thing in the world to me. I love you Elizabeth, forever" I say pulling her hips. Her body meets mine and she gives me a killer smile.

"I love you too Patrick" she whispers.

"Why don't we take this party back to my place" I say softly.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else" she whispers on my skin.

We recklessly drive back to my place and run up to the apartment. She pushes me on the couch and crawls on top of me.

"What do you want to do" I ask.

"Honestly, take a nap" she giggles.

"Seriously" I ask and she nods.

"That's funny because I do too" I admit. I pull a blanket over us and she wraps her arms around me. I pull her into me as her head rests in the crook of my neck. I pull her hair out of the way so I can get a good look at her. Her eyes already closed and breathing evening out.

"Lizzie" I ask.

"Mhmm" she mumbles.

"Will you marry me? Not now, but when the time is right" I ask.

"Of course" she claims.

"And kids... do you want kids with me" I ask.

"Sometimes that's all I want" she whispers. I smile to myself as I think of a future with her. Living in a house after she's done singing and I'm done playing. Just our family living our lives loving one another. Then one day when I all have left is her I'll know it's more than enough and that's what keeps me going more times than not. Such a beautiful future and all the time in the world to make it happen.
