Teen Titans get a tip of that a villain is going to strick somewhere and when they get there, they all get into fights with different villains.
When Robin and Slade are fighting, Slade has a syringe that is filled with a chemical that names you obey your every command, but the person is still aware of their movement. He managed to inject it into Robin while fighting. Robin passes out and is taken back to Slade's hideout.
Over the years, Robin, despite mostly being under the chemical, had grown a sorta truce/friendship with Slade.
