Katniss P.O.V.

"This is awful," I complain between heaves. Peeta rubs my back with one hand, and uses his free hand to hold my hair back. He's knelt behind me on the bathroom floor as I lose what little I ate for breakast.

"Do you want to try to drink something?"

"No," I say as I shake my head. "Not right now." Once I'm pretty sure I'm done getting sick, Peeta helps me up to my feet. We start towards the couch, but I shake my head. "I want to go lay down on our bed," I tell him.

"Are you dizzy?"

"No. But I just feel really weak and I want to lay down."

"Do you need me carry you?" he asks me. I shake my head.

"Just help me upstairs please," I say.

"Yeah," Peeta says as he wraps an arm around my waist. I lean into him as he leads me up the steps. I have to stop after just a few steps for fear of my legs giving out on me. "Katniss, I don't mind carrying you if you need me to."

"No," I tell him. "I'm fine." But Peeta just ignores me. He leans over and scoops me up into his arms. I wrap my arms around his neck as he carries me to our room.

He carefully lays me down on our bed, but I don't let his neck go.

"Don't leave," I beg. "Lay down with me." Peeta chuckles.

"Katniss, you have to let go of my neck so I can go over to the other side of the bed," Peeta tells me.

"No I don't," I say as I scoot over, giving Peeta enough space to lay down. Peeta lays down beside of me, and I wrap my arms tighter around his neck, pulling me closer to him. Peeta wraps an arm around me, and I use his other arm as a pillow.

"Feeling better?" he asks me. I nod my head.

"Peeta?"

"Yeah?"

"How are we going to do this?"

"Why are you talking about, Katniss?" Peeta asks as he rubs small circles into my back.

"I mean, how are we going to raise this baby and teach him or her that the Games are wrong when it's what our life's revolve around? How are we going to explain it all without scaring them to death? Without giving him or her nightmares?"

"Katniss…"

A terrifying, but true though comes to me before Peeta even finishes his sentence.

"I guess it doesn't really matter anyways," I say as I sit up on the bed. "This baby doesn't even belong to us."

"Katniss, what on earth are you talking about?" Peeta asks as he sits up beside of me. "Of course this baby belongs to us." I look at him and shake my head.

"No," I say flatly. "Once this baby is born, their life will belong to Snow. Just like ours does. Whatever Snow tells this baby to do, him or her will have to do it, or suffer. Just like us." A tear falls down my cheek, and Peeta reaches over to gently wipe it away.

"Stop, Katniss," Peeta says softly. "You're making yourself upset." He pulls me in close, and I lay my head over on his chest. "I don't know how many times I'll have to repeat this," Peeta tells me. "But Snow will never touch the baby."

"You can't promise that," I tell Peeta as I look up at him. "The only way you can promise that is if something changes before the baby is born. If the Games were gone and the world was completely different."

"Is that all you're asking for?" Peeta asks. I nod my head.

"That's all I ask for," I answer. "To protect our baby."

"Then I'll make sure it happens," Peeta says as he stands up off the bed.

"Where are you going?" I ask as I grab Peeta's arm.

"Don't worry about it." Peeta leans over and kisses my forehead. "I won't be gone long. But until I get back, please rest." I nod and slowly lay back down.

When I wake up, the smell of something cooking is wafting through the air and making me nauseous. I go over and shut the bedroom door, but it does little to help. I move the trash can over to the bed just in case, and I lay back down.

It isn't long until I hear footsteps coming towards the bedroom. The door opens, and Peeta pokes his head in the room.

"Katniss?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you hungry?"

"No," I say as I shake my head. "I don't even want to think about food right now." Peeta walks over and sits down beside of me on the bed.

"Here," Peeta says as he hands me a glass of water. "You need to stay hydrated." I take a small sip.

"Where did you go while ago?" I ask him.

"Don't worry about it," Peeta tells me. He reaches over and spreads his hand across my stomach. I lay my hand on top of his, and he smiles at me. "Are you sure you don't want to go eat?" he asks me.

"Yeah. I'm sure," I reply. "But I will walk downstairs with you."

"The smell won't bother you?" he asks me.

"It did at first, but I think I'm okay now," I tell Peeta as he gently pulls me up off the bed. Once I'm standing, Peeta wraps his arms around me, and I lay my head over on his shoulder.

"You don't have to worry," he tells me softly. "Our baby will be okay. I'll make sure of it. But you have to trust me." I nod my head.

"I trust you," I tell him truthfully. "I trust you more than I trust anyone."

So I got to write this chapter, but the next one WILL be written by my friend. She got really excited, and then I came up with this chapter so I promised her she could write the next one. I have no clue what she has planned but she got this crazy look in her eyes. 😂
